Just Us Girls #408 - Photo Week

Dear Ones~
This week is PHOTO WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Maria has chosen this awesome photo for our inspiration.

Here's my Card:
I don't have any flamingos or pineapples, but I do have this Cricut image from the Art Nouveau cartridge. I really love this stylized egret, and I thought if I did it in pink it would kind of resemble a flamingo. Maybe if you squint you can see it....ha ha! I computer generated the greeting - easy peasy. The striped patterned paper mimics the striped cake which is sitting on the table in the background in the photo.

Here are the Ingredients:
Recollections Rose Petal 110# Card Stocks in Various Pinks
Recollections Blossoms and Bliss Patterned Papers
Cricut Art Nouveau Cartridge
M & C Stitched Scalloped Circle Die
SU Succulents Framelits Dies for Flower
Nuvo Crystal Drops
Stash Gold Thread

Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful examples that our August Guest Designer Darnell and the rest of the team have made this week. Just Us Girls #407 - Color Week

Dear Ones~
This week is COLOR WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Sue has chosen RED, YELLOW and BLUE. What great colors! So much fun to use the primaries. As always with color challenges, you are to use ONLY the three chosen colors as well as any neutrals that you need.  Neutrals are white, ivory, kraft, black, brown or gray.

Here's my card:
Here I was inspired by some coneflowers that France Martin had made with the Stampin' Up Daisy Punch. You can watch her video HERE. I thought they were so clever. The background is just an embossing folder by Stampin' Up and I punched 3 butterflies in the different colors with a little Martha Stewart punch and layered them together. The stems are from a die set by Stampin' Up called Bouquet Bunch. I white heat embossed the vertical greeting from GKD.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
Recollections Red, Yellow and Blue 110# Card Stock
SU Petal Burst Embossing Folder
SU Bouquet Bunch Framelits for Stems
SU Daily Punch
Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch
GKD Mountain Wilderness Stamp for Greeting
Stash Ribbon and Enamel Dots

Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful examples that our August Guest Designer Darnell and the rest of the team have made this week. Double D - All White

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D we are going ALL WHITE.  And just look at the beautiful Mood Board we have to inspire us.

And here's my card:
I love doing white on white, I just think it's so stunning. My first thought was to do something really fancy, but I decided to go more tailored and classic this time. For the greeting I die cut the word 3 times and stacked them together. I love how it made the word pop up. There's a bunch of layering here with different die cuts, and the flowers and branches were done with punches. Easy peasy!

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
Top Dog Flower Lace A2 Mat Die
Die-namics Stitched Mini-Scallop Rectangle Die
HOTP Love and 5 Hearts Die for Greeting
Martha Stewart Punches for Flowers and Branches
Stash Ribbon & Pearls

Please come on over to the Double D Blog to see what the other designers have created. And you could win this awesome prize if you play along.

Oh, and thanks for stopping by, your comments always make me smile.

Just Us Girls #406 - Trend Week

Dear Ones!
This week is TREND WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and I'M THE HOST!!!! I have chosen the trend SHINE. Just put some shine on your card, be it foil, metal, or even foiled card stock. Anything shiny.
Here's my Card:
I chose to do some foiling with gel medium for my shine. First I sponged with the background with Oxide Inks, then I stenciled the pattern with gel medium. After it dried I applied gold foil from Heidi Swapp and ran the piece through my laminator. I wish the photo showed the shine better. I don't know why I chose SHINE for my challenge when it's awful to photograph. The greeting is one from Gina K. It's printed with toner so I could run that through the laminator with foil as well.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Innocent Pink Card Stock
Stash Gold Foil Card Stock
GKD White Card Stock
Oxide Inks In:
*Spiced Marmalade
*Worn Lipstick
*Fossilized Amber
Crafter's Workship Mini Cell Theory Stencil
Windsor Newton Gloss Gel Medium
SU Layered Circles Dies
GKD Sending Love STV Kit for Greeting
Heidi Swapp Gold Foil
Nuvo Jewel Drops
Stash Gold Ribbon

THE PRIZE
A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

Here is my example:
For this card I used a Gina K Designs stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger called Holiday Frame for the background. Then I paper pieced patterned paper from the Sending Love Patterned Paper pack. The butterflies and greeting are from the Sending Love stamp set. I colored the butterflies with Copics and then used Spectrum Noir Glitter Pens to spark them up. I used Fine Tech metallic watercolor in gold to add the gold spots. Then I fussy cut the butterflies out and placed them on the card. I created the bigger butterfly twice and attached them together for dimension, with some pop dots under the wings to keep them up.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Turquoise Sea Card
GKD White Card
GKD Sending Love Stamps
GKD Holiday Frame Stamp
GKD Sending Love Patterned Paper
Copic Markers
Spectrum Noir Glitter Pens
Fine Tech Gold Watercolor

Double D - Tan Neutrals with Texture

Dear Ones~

This time over at Double D the challenge is to use Neutrals With TextureKrafts, tans, creams, beige etc - this is all about the 'Tan Neutral Family"...touches of black or white are okay.
Texture can be anything. And we have been provided with this wonderful Mood Board for inspiration.

Here is my example:
I couldn't wait to break out my Oxides for the background on this card. I used Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain and just did the Smooshing Technique. I love the organic look. Then I got out my corrigator and ran a piece of kraft paper through, after which I tore and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I also distressed the flowers and leaf die cuts from the SU Botanical Builder Framelits die set. I found a piece of wide burlap-y ribbon in my stash for an embellishment. Lots of texture going on here.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Sandy Beach & Ivory Card
GKD Kraft Card
Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Inks
Walnut Stain Distress Ink
SU Botanical Builder Framelits
Ellen Hudson Wild Garden Die
GKD Fabulous Flowers Stamp for Greeting

Please come on over to the Double D Blog to see what the other designers have created. And if you play you could win this great prize:
