Double D - Silhouettes

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the theme is SILHOUETTES. How fun!!! Just look at the Mood Board provided for our inspiration:

And here is my card:
I just adore this old stamp set by Close to my Heart. I have not used it in a very long time. To make the background I cut a circle and masked off the moon. Then I sponged the sky with Distress Inks. After the sky was finished, I removed the moon mask and applied the background mask to expose the circle so I could sponge the color for the moon. The silhouette images were heat embossed with black embossing powder, and for a final touch I splattered Copic Opaque Ink to create stars.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx, White and Ivory Card Stock
Distress Inks in:
Tumbled Glass
Salty Ocean
Chipped Saphire
Dusty Concord
Black Soot
CTMH Nature's Gift
GKD Masking Magic
Copic Opaque Ink

Mod Squad - Back to Nature

Dear Ones~
This week it's my turn to host over at The Mod Squad. I decided it would be fun to use something from nature on our creations. The real deal, something that is REALLY from nature, not just an image.

PRIZE

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

Here is my card:
When I was walking in the woods recently I found this really beautiful piece of bark from a Red Pine Tree. I thought it would be fun to attach it to my card. On a piece of Kraft Card Stock I stenciled a background with the Thick Brush Stencil and some Sandy Beach Ink. Then I stamped the images with the Something Good in Every Day Stamp Set and attached the bark with Gina K Designs Connect Glue. The flowers are from the Hugs and Wildflowers Stamp Set and are fussy cut from some watercolor paper that I smooshed with Coral Reef and Tangerine Twist Ink.  That little lady bug is from A Year of Flowers 2. I used Christmas Pine and Charcoal Brown Card Stock for the card base.

Glad you stopped by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. You could win the prize! I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments! Now get outside and find something fabulous!!!
