Leaping Trout

Dear Ones~
It has been some time since I posted a blog to enter a couple of challenges. It felt good to just play and do something for fun.
Here is my card:
when I saw this digi stamp set from Power Poppy I HAD to have it!! My hubby is an avid fly fisherman, and gets so much pleasure from stalking the elusive trout. We have 2 beautiful rivers in our county, and in the summer he spends some part of almost every day in their waters. He has many fishermen friends who would love this card.

I recently purchased a very cool stencil from Designs by Jaime called Mini Cell Theory. I thought it would be a great design to sponge as my background paper. I colored the fish with Prismacolors, and added some Stickles and clear Crystal Drops to the water.

This photo is a little out of focus, but it's a good close up of the design. I think Marcella did a wonderful job drawing that fish!!

Here are the Ingredients:
PTI New Leaf Card Stock
GKD Black Onyx and White Card Stock
Designs by Jaime Mini Cell Theory Stencil
Distress Inks in Blue Denim & Tumbled Glass
Power Poppy Leaping Trout Digi Stamp

Signo White Gel Pen

This Card will be Entered In:

Mod Squad Challenge - Wedded Bliss

Dear Ones~
This week Vicki Dutcher and I are hosting the Mod Squad Challenge. Our challenge to you is to make a wedding or anniversary card.

One of our sponsors is the wonderful stamp company

  https://www.kitchensinkstamps.com/shop/index.html

Kitchen Sink Stamps offers us a discount CODE: ModSquad15.
These stamps are amazing. Most have a multi-stamp feature that lets you get great detail in your images using several colors. There is real dimension with a 3-D effect! And one of the best features of this stamp company is that there are color recipes for most of the multi-step stamps, so you don't have to guess what colors to use. There are even alternative colors if you don't have the inks that are suggested. Maria from Kitchen Sink Stamps is a member of our Mod Squad Challenge Facebook Group so feel free to say Hi or ask any questions.

THE PRIZE
A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE to the store.
You can pick your own goodies and there are lots of choices!

Here is a sample for you:
I decided to try some foiling with this multi-step stamp set. It came out really well, I'm very happy with it. You can't tell, but all the dark bits on the flowers are silver foil. I just stamped one of the elements of the flower with black ink, copied it with my laser printer and ran it through my laminator with some silver foil. Then I continued to stamp the images with various other inks.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Heavy Weight White Card Stock
Recollections Mercury Glass Card Stock
GKD Ocean Mist and Turquoise Sea Card Stock
Spellbinders Marvelous Squares Die
Stash Corner Punch
Martha Stewart Leaf Punch
Nuvo Crystal Drops

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Blog Challenge and play along. I can't wait to see your wonderful creations!! Oh, and I adore your comments!

Altenew June Inspiration Challenge

Dear Ones~
Here it is Sunday evening already. Where does the time go?

Today's offering is for the Altenew June Inspiration Challenge. Here is the beautiful photo they supplied us -

http://i1.wp.com/altenewblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/photo-inspiration-challenge_June_2.jpg

And here is my card:
The background stamp is by Penny Black. I heat embossed it with pearl embossing powder, and I thought it mimicked the dress in the photo pretty well. Plus I added the sequins for added sparkle. I kinda wish I hadn't put the black dots in the centers of the flowers, but - too late. Hindsight is 20/20.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Jellybean Green and White Card Stock
SU Lost Lagoon Card Stock
Penny Black Slapstick Background Stamp
Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set
Various Leaf Die Cuts
GKD Sweet Corn Ink
Memento Dandelion Ink
Our Daily Bread Lace Border Die
Black Enamel Accents

I will also be entering this in the Penny Black June Challenge - Flower Power.

Thanks for stopping by, I adore your comments. Hope your weekend was grand and you have a wonderful week ahead.

Just Us Girls # 347 - Trend Week

Dear Ones~
This week is Trend Week over at Just Us Girls, and our host Nancy has chosen the Spotlighting Technique.
This technique is pretty much self explanatory. For more inspiration, visit our Just Us Girls Challenge Blog.

Here's my card:
For this spotlighting I cut a circle mask, and a mask for the image. After stamping the image with black ink, I masked the flowers and sponged the kraft ink inside the circle. Then I colored the image inside the circle with my Zigs. I did go outside the circle just a little with that leaf and the little berries.
I just liked it better that way.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Kraft, Red Hot and White Card Stock
HOTP Botanical Blooms
HOTP Serendipity Flowers for Greeting
Zig Clean Color Markers
GKD Kraft Ink for Sponging
Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red

Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful cards that our June Guest Designer Cornelia, and the rest of the team have made this week.  I hope to see you there.
And remember, if you win Chic of the Week in any of our June challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of August!!
Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!!

Simon's Monday Challenge - Monochrome

Dear Ones~
Another card for today. This time it's for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week it's monochrome - use only one color on your card.

I decided to go with a pearl white for my "color".  I love the look. I used the SU's Botanical Builders Thinlits dies for most of this card. The background is a new embossing folder I recently purchased. It's from We R Memory Keepers. I love the dimension.

Here are the Ingredients:
Core'dinations Pearls Pearly White Card Stock
We R Memory Keepers Next Generation Gemstone Embossing Folder
Crafty Secrets Stamp for Greeting
Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8
GKD Gold Embossing Powder
Ivory Seashell Nuvo Crystal Drops

I appreciate your stopping by, and also your comments.
Enjoy your weekend!!

StampTV MIUM - A Pop of Color

Dear Ones~
Happy Friday, hope you have some awesome plans for the weekend.
Today's offering is for the Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday Challenge - this week it's black and white with a pop of color. LOVE this idea, so I had to play along!

Here's My Card:
I stamped this image from the vintage GKD Heart Blooms Duo Stamp Set. I say vintage because it's super old, I have had it forever! Don't even know when it was released. Anyway, I stamped it on Bristol Board and colored it with my Zigs. In my opinion, Bristol is THE BEST card stock to use with Zigs. They blend beautifully and you always get a crisp stamped image because it's so smooth.

Here are the Ingredients:

GKD Black Onyx, Sweet Corn and White Card Stock
Kaisercraft Shine Bright Patterned Paper
GKD Heart Blooms Stamp Set
Paper Smooches Foliage 1 Die (thanks Donna!)
Black IrRESISTible Pico Embellisher for stamins

I so appreciate your stopping by, and I adore your comments. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and do something fun!
