Just Us Girls #404 - Wild Card

Dear Ones~
This week over at Just Us Girls it's WILD CARD!! It's the fifth Saturday of the month, and anything goes. Our gal Ina is asking us to USE SOMETHING OLD and/or SOMETHING NEW.

Here's my card:
This is a new stamp set that Stampin' Up is offering in their catalog as a host gift. It's called Tranquil Tulips, and is a multi-step set. I love the organic, watercolor-y feel. That's the something new. The something old is the patterned paper and corner punch, both of which I have had forever! I used a stamp from the SU Dragonfly Dreams stamp set for the texture at the bottom, stamping off for a softer effect.

Here are the Ingredients:
Recollections Grey and Black 110# Card
GKD Ivory Card
Colorbök Modern Millinery Patterned Paper
SU Tranquil Tulips Stamp Set
SU Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set
SU Thoughtful Banners Stamp for Greeting
SU Berry Burst Ink
SU Garden Green Ink
Fiskars Sea Pearls Corner Punch
SU Classic Label Punch

Just Us Girls #403 - Photo Week

Dear Ones~
This week it's PHOTO WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Bobby has chosen this wonderful summer photo for inspiration. Mmmmm.....my mouth is watering!!!
And here is my card:
I have had this sweet little digi stamp forever. I have NO idea where it came from, except that I found it somewhere on the internet. There is no company associated with it as far as I know. I printed it off and then colored it with Copics. This is 5"x5" square. I thought the kraft patterned paper worked really well for this rustic look.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Kraft, White and Cranberry Tart Card Stock
Recollections Garden Harvest Patterned Paper
Spellbinders Scalloped Circles Die
Spellbinders Lacy Circles Die
GKD Enjoy the Sunshine Stamp for Greeting
Copic Markers
Stash Gingham Ribbon

Double D - Black and White with a Pop of Color

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D we are doing Black and White with just a Pop of Color. This is one of my favorite looks, so I was really excited to see this Mood Board:

And here's my card:
I just LOVE lime green with black. I think it's stunning. That green is one of the new in colors over at Stampin' Up - Lemon Lime Twist. Here I have used a color by Gina K Designs called Jellybean Green. I think it really makes a statement. I just found a bunch of black and white patterned paper and did lots of layering. Then I die cut the butterfly in lime green and black and layered them together. I made the striped paper with a SU stamp called Diagonal Stripe.  For the final touch I die cut one of the shapes from PTI's Scribbled Circles die set and popped the greeting on top. I love how this came out.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx and White Card Stock
GKD Jellybean Green Card Stock
Kaiser Craft Shine Bright Patterned Paper
SU Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp
SU Butterflies Thinlits
SU A Round Array Stamp for Greeting
PTI Scribbled Circles Die

Please come on over to the Double D Blog to see what the other designers have created.  There is always a wonderful prize up for grabs too, so check it out. Oh, and thanks for stopping by, your comments always make me smile.

Just Us Girls #402 - Color Week

Dear Ones~
It's Color Week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Nancy has chosen PINK, DARK PINK and BLUE. What fun colors to work with.  As always with color challenges, you are to use ONLY the three chosen colors as well as any neutrals that you need.  Neutrals are white, ivory, kraft, black, brown or gray.

Here's my card:

This is not my best effort. I think it lacks something, but I can't figure out what. Anyway, it is what it is. The dies are from Tim Holtz called Wild Flowers. The set comes with a bunch of dies and they are really fun. The little dots are some acrylic paint, applied with a stylus. Works pretty good.

Recollections Rose Petal 110 lb Card Stock
GKD White Card Stock
Stash Dark Pink Card Stock
PTI Noted: A2 Scalloped Die
MFT Die-namics Scalloped Rectangle Die
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

Just Us Girls #401 - Trend Week

Dear Ones~
This week is TREND WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Nancy has chosen the trend INK BLENDING.  This can most easily be done by using a sponge or sponge dauber, inking it up, and then applying it to the card stock with a swirling motion. Different inks and different card stocks produce different results.

Here's my card:
I used a TON of different ink colors on this card. All but one are Stampin' Up inks. I cut a circle out of card stock that was the same size as my card front. Then I first masked the rest of the card front and just left the circle exposed. After I was finished inking up the sun, I removed the first mask and placed the circle I had cut onto the sun to mask that off.  I inked up the rest of the card front with the pinks and blues. A happy accident was that I didn't get the sun masked off perfectly, and it left that white ring. I think it looks super cool. After I was done with the inking I just stamped the rest of the elements.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Christmas Pine and White Card Stock
Stampin' Up Flirty Flamingo Card Stock
GKD The Wetlands Stamps
GKD By the Sea 2 Stamps
SU Inks In:
*Peakaboo Peach
*Flirty Flamingo
*Powder Pink
*Sweet Sugarplum
*Pool Party
GKD Sweet Corn Ink

For this card I used an older stamp set called Hello Sunshine. This was originally from a STV kit. I used my Zigs and colored the stamp with yellow and green. Then I stamped it on some GKD White Card Stock. I colored and stamped the image 3 times for a field of flowers. The butterfly was colored and stamped the same way.
