Dies R Us - Cattails

Dear Ones~

I hope this post finds you happy and doing well. We are in the throes of winter here in Michigan, but I can't complain.
Today's offering is for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog. Here is my card:

And here's how I made it:
Before I die cut my piece, I stamped the background with a sliced wood background from Stampin' Up. Then I cut the cattails image with copper and then gold. I saved the "innies" from the gold moon and inlaid it into the copper piece. Then I attached everything together. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up and the brads are from my stash.

Here's a close up of that beautiful gold moon.

This is the die I used.

Double D - What's in Your Kitchen + Blog Candy

Dear Ones~
 BLOG CANDY ALERT!!!!!
All month long over at Double D we are celebrating the blog's 2nd anniversary. In honor of the celebration I will have some blog candy for some lucky winner. Stay tuned to the end of this post.

This time over at Double D we are exploring What's in Your Kitchen. Here's a wonderful mood board for your inspiration.

There are so many possibilities on this mood board. Here's my card:

Now I don't really have any "kitchen" stamps, but we make cupcakes in a kitchen, don't we? So that's what I came up with. Plus the patterned papers have a kitchen theme. The cupcake and greeting are both from the Gina K Designs stamp set called Sweet Thing. I colored the cupcake with Prismas and fussy cut the frosting and wrapper, then glued them on top of a piece of Dark Chocolate card stock for a chocolate cupcake. I added a little glitter to the sprinkles for some mouth watering goodness.

Here are the ingredients:
GKD Ivory Card Stock
Paper Studios Olivia's Sweet Shop Patterned Paper
GKD Sweet Thing Stamp Set
Prismacolor Pencils
Glossy Accents for the Cherry
Stickles for the Sprinkles

Please come on over to the Double D Blog to see what the other designers have created. And you could win one of these awesome prizes if you play along. Two lucky winners this time!

STV-Lay It Out Both Ways

Dear Ones~
It's softly snowing here, and has been all day. A great day to hunker and play in my craft room. Today I made a couple of cards for a challenge that I haven't participated in for a really long time. These two cards have been made for the Stamp TV Release Challenge. I LOVE Gina K Designs stuff, so I was excited to pull out some stamps and just play for change, without having to have my creation be for a Design Team. I am also entering these into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Use Patterned Paper.

Gina's challenge was to make a couple of cards using the same stamps, but do the layout both horizontally and vertically. Here are my cards~
I used Melanie Muenchinger's Stately Flowers 11 set for this. I don't think I have ever used it, and it's so lovely. I pulled out my Prismacolors and Gamsol after I watched Gina and her daughter, Rina, color with them the other day. So much fun.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Blue Lagoon, Black and White CS
GKD Stately Flowers 11 Stamp Set
Recollections Spring Decorate It PP
GKD Cottage Garden Stamp for Greeting
Prismacolor Pencils
Gamsol
Nuvo Crystal Drops
Stickles
Stash Ribbon

Here are the Ingredients for This One:
GKD Passionate Pink, Black & White CS
Recollections Spring Decorate It PP
GKD Stately Flowers 11 Stamp Set
GKD Cottage Garden Stamp for Greeting
Prismacolor Pencils
Gamsol
Nuvo Crystal Drops, Stickles
Stash Ribbon

It really feels good to be back to playing the challenges over at Stamp TV - it has been way too long. Thanks for stopping by, I adore your comments. Stay well, my friends!

Hugs,

Dies R Us - Swan Song

Dear Ones~

Seems like it's been awhile since I did a blog post. Guess I have just been busy. Today's offering is for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog. Here is my card:

And here's how I made it.
First I got out some Distress Inks and sponges. I made a mask with a circle die to mask off the moon, and tore some paper as a mask for the land. After sponging the background I removed the moon mask and lightly sponged with Black Soot to give the moon some dimension.
Here's how it turned out.
Then I went about doing all my die cutting. Now it was time to put it all together. here' s a close up of that beautiful swan by Dee's Diestinctive.

These are the dies I used.
