Double D - 12 Days of Christmas 1-6

Dear Ones~
What a fun challenge we have this time over at Double D. We are looking at the 12 Days of Christmas, but just days 1-6. Here is a Mood Board for inspiration:

And here is my card:
So I chose Two Turtle Doves. Here I used the plaid background because I loved the vintage look of the plaid with the doves. The images are cut from some Graphic 45 patterned paper called, appropriately enough, The 12 Days of Christmas. I used the Paper Tole Technique by fussy cutting various segments of the images and layering them for dimension. It was so fun and something I have not done for a very long time.

Here are the Ingredients:
*Stampin' Up Cajun Craze Card Stock
*Recollections Cream Card Stock
*Stash Gold Foil Card Stock
*Stampin' Up Detailed Bands Die
*Graphic 45 12 Days of Christmas
Patterned Paper
*Stampin' Up Layering Ovals Dies

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win this adorable die from Impression Obsession. And don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created for your inspiration.

So that's it for me, thanks for stopping by. I adore your comments, they always make me smile. And don't forget to stop over at Double D and see what's going on.

Double D - Silhouettes

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the theme is SILHOUETTES. How fun!!! Just look at the Mood Board provided for our inspiration:

And here is my card:
I just adore this old stamp set by Close to my Heart. I have not used it in a very long time. To make the background I cut a circle and masked off the moon. Then I sponged the sky with Distress Inks. After the sky was finished, I removed the moon mask and applied the background mask to expose the circle so I could sponge the color for the moon. The silhouette images were heat embossed with black embossing powder, and for a final touch I splattered Copic Opaque Ink to create stars.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx, White and Ivory Card Stock
Distress Inks in:
Tumbled Glass
Salty Ocean
Chipped Saphire
Dusty Concord
Black Soot
CTMH Nature's Gift

Dies R Us - Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Dear Ones~
Well, it has been quite some time since I have written on this blog. We spent 3 weeks camping on Lake Superior with our fifth wheel.  3 days after we arrived home I headed to Midland for my 55th high school class reunion, and last weekend I spent 3 days with my besties for Girls' Weekend. Whew, finally have time to catch my breath.

Today's offering is for the Dies R Us Challenge.  The challenge is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. I have no images or dies that are appropriate for these subjects, but I thought a hot air balloon is sort of a plane. So here is my card:
For this card I used dies from Waffle Flower, Elizabeth Craft Designs and Penny Black.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Red Velvet, White, Black and Sweet Mango Card
Penny Black Antique Frame Dies
Elizabeth Craft Designs Ribbons and Jewels Dies
Waffle Flower Year Round Words Die for Greeting
SU Carried Away Patterned Paper
SU Lift Me Up Balloon and Cloud Stamps
SU Real Red and Basic Gray Inks

So happy to be back in the blogging world again. I have missed my craft room and the opportunity to be creative. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I so appreciate your lovely comments. They always brighten my day!!!
Hugs~

Here's what I came up with:
I decided that I wanted to make some inserts for my phone cover. You can get the clear plastic covers for pretty cheap on Amazon. So I made myself a template by tracing around the cover, and cut out the shapes.
For the poppy insert I used GKD Water Droplets Stencil and sponged with Ocean Mist and Key Lime Inks. Then I stamped the poppies with the GKD Poppy Inspiring Poppies mini stamp set. The Poppies were colored with Copics.  For the purple flower insert I used the GKD stamp set Hugs and Wildflowers by Lisa Hetrick. I made some masks and stamped the flowers in a pleasing arrangement on Bristol paper. These flowers were colored with Zigs.

Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
GKD Water Droplets Stencil
GKD Key Lime & Ocean Mist Inks
GKD Inspiring Poppies Stamp
Copic Markers

Ingredients:
