Dear Ones~
It's been over a week since I have made a card, and I feel kinda rusty - go figure. The weekend was spent cleaning away all the dust that settled on EVERYTHING from the bathroom remodel. The whole house smells like Murphy's Oil Soap, and I love it.
Today's card is made for the Mod Squad Challenge, to make a one-layer card. Or rather, to make a card with NO layers. UGH - this is really, really hard for me. I rely on my layers to make my cards interesting. So, having said that, here's my offering:
I decided to try the faux embossing technique. This is where you first stamp the image with white ink, let it dry, and then stamp again. Only this time you stamp it just a little off the first stamping, and use an ink color that matches the card stock. On this card I used GKD Moonlit Fog card stock and ink.
Here are the supplies I used:
Gina K Designs Moonlit Fog
Gina K Designs Moonlit Fog Ink
Gina K Designs White Pigment Ink
Paper Wishes Wildflower Stamp Set
Gina K Designs Out West 2 Stamp Set for Greeting
Dragonfly Punch from my Stash
White Enamel Accents
White Gel Pen
So that's it for me. I'm looking forward to spending more time in my craft room now that things have settled down in the Woodland Household. Thanks for stopping by - and enjoy the sunshine my friends!!
I love this technique. I really thought it was embossed until I read your description.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this card....I thought it was layers. What is Judy doing now? You always astound me. Your card is truly incredible. Rusty, my foot!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! Just when I thought I knew about everything in card making, you go and prove me wrong (again!) LOVE this technique, I had no clue about it or even by looking at your card how to do it, glad you explained it all. Gorgeous! Reminds me of those beautiful lampshades that have pretty designs kind of cut out in them. Fabulous! This is a winner for sure, Judy....hope you break the streak!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it really turned out well! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant looking! I've never heard of this technique, but I'm going to have to give it a try. It really is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI thought you had embossed on foil until I read it. Looks great
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and elegant.
ReplyDeleteOH I need to try this! LOVE it!! Thanks so much for playing along in the Mod Squad Challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteWow Judy, you nailed this one. It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, Beautiful Judy! Something new I'm going to have to try. Learn, learn,, learn.
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss making a comment on this one. I was sure that I did! My age is catching up with me. No comments on that Judy!
ReplyDeleteI love this card, and you come up with the techniques that I am sure Gina doesn't even know about. That's why you are on the design team.
