Watercolor Stamping

Dear Ones~
Another quick post today. This card was made for the StampTV MIUM Challenge, hosted this week by my super talented friend, Joyce Erb. She challenged us to use something in our stash we have never used before.

Here is my card:
I "had to have" these beautiful Tim Holtz Distress Stains. Love the colors. And like so many of us, after I got them, they sat on the shelf for awhile and I forgot what I got them for. I still don't remember....haha. Then I recently watched a video over at Split Coast Stampers where the stains were used as ink on a stamp. Cool!!! I finally had a use for those beautiful stains. The image was stamped on hot press watercolor paper, which is much smoother than cold press.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Ivory and Tomato Soup Card Stock
GKD Autumn Landscape Patterned Paper
GKD Flowers and Frames Stamp Set
GKD A Year of Flowers Stamp Set
GKD Dogwood and Butterfly for Greeting
Die-namics Pierced Rectangles Die Set
Distress Stains In:
*Ripe Persimmon
*Picked Raspberry
*Evergreen Bough
*Mowed Lawn

I really enjoyed doing this card - it's fun to try a new technique. Thanks for stopping by, I adore your comments!!

  1. Isn't this absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the colors you chose and that technique--yay you! The background DP is so pretty and I love the layers (of course ;) Your use of the pierced rectangle was a perfect choice for your lovely flowers! And your matching ribbon. This really is gorgeous! I also love how you try each and every technique that crosses your path, you're adventurous like that!

  4. Oh this is so totally gorgeous! I love those colors and flowers. The frame is perfect with it too. I am envious as I am remiss in working with watercolors of late. But I had some fun things to do anyway this weekend so I am okay with that.

  5. Whoops. I just realized I made the comment about the video on the Gina K rose card. I love the effect you got with the stains here, I was fascinated with the technique but I am running out of room for new supplies. This is a gorgeous card. Love the background paper and how it makes the focal image pop and the ribbon with the tiny bit of gold is the perfect embellishment.
