Double D - Favorite Fruit

Dear Ones~
This time the challenge over at Double D the challenge is YOUR FAVORITE FRUIT. How fun, lots we can do with this one!! Here's the Mood Board for our inspiration.

This is my card:
Oddly, I don't have a lot of fruity supplies, but I did find this stamp set by Lisa Hetrick for Gina K Designs. I started by ink smooshing on watercolor paper with some Distress Inks in colors that were pear-like. Then I finished by ink blending with a few other colors after I die cut the images out. It was really quite fun and I like the way the pears bloomed. Is your mouth watering???

A Cut Above - July

 Dear Ones~

Happy ANNIVERSARY/BIRTHDAY to us!!! Can you believe it's been 2 years since the birth of A Cut Above?

Challenges are on a monthly basis and posted on the first Monday of the month at 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) and ending on the 28th of each month 8:00 PM (Eastern Time) with the winner posted on the 30th of that month. The theme is always anything goes with a die cut

Limit of 3 entries per challenge with each being a different project.

Any project is welcome but MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE DIE CUT defined by using a die cut machine, not a purchased pre-fabricated die cut. Winner is chosen by random draw, and will receive one of the 4 prizes listed below, with a dated badge to display on their craft site.

Here' my card for this month:
One of my favorite looks is the background here. I stamp a scripty background stamp in Versafine on patterned paper and heat emboss it with gold embossing powder. I think it really packs a punch. Then I used some real wood vernier to design the square pattern.

Double D - Potpourri

Dear Ones~
The challenge this time over at Double D is a fun one. It's POTPOURRI!! For this challenge use anything you see, it can be an object, a mix of colors, a shape/design. For example, sun, cloud, rainbow, an arch shape, the colors etc.  Just have some fun with it. Here is the Mood Board for inspiration:

Here is my design:

My eye went to that luscious spiral candy in the lower right photo, so that's where I got my inspiration. I recently acquired the Gina K Sweet Celebration die set, and that lollypop die was perfect. I just had fun mixing all the different bright colors together, picking up on the patterned paper from Honey Bee. Oh, and isn't that greeting just a hoot? I love it.
