Hope your Wednesday is going well. Happy Hump Day for those of you still working. For me every day is Saturday, because I am retired. I am blessed!!
Today's card was made for the MIUM Challenge over at StampTV My online BFF Donna Phelan is hosting this week, and she has asked us to do something beach-y. Now you have to know she lives on Cape Cod and is only a few blocks from the ocean, so she has her own beautiful beach to enjoy. She is a lucky girl.
Here is my card:
I'm not crazy about how this turned out. I think it's kinda busy. But I did have fun making it. I used my beloved Brusho Crystal Colors for the background around the oval center. I think it kinda looks like sand. And I love Melanie Muenchinger's stamp set, Fabulous Frame. All I did was stamp it out on the watercolor paper after I used my Brushos and paper pieced everything. Oh, and that wonderful Adirondack chair die cut is from my dear friend Kathy. It came to me white, and I just sponged it with GKD Black Ink. Thank you my dear!!! It works perfectly here.
Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Blue Denim and White Card Stock.
Brusho Crystal Colors on Watercolor Paper
GKD Inks in:
*Ocean Mist
*Turquoise Sea
*Sweet Mango
*Bubblegum Pink
GKD Fabulous Frame Stamp Set
GKD By the Sea 2 Stamp Set
Distress Markers
Stickles for the Waves
White Gel Pen for the Waves
Thanks for stopping by, I adore your comments. Maybe someday soon it will be warm enough for us all to enjoy a beach like this!!!
Soooo Beach Worthy.....and let me repeat myself; This is spectacular! I love the entire look, your backgrounds are wonderful! (you are the Queen Of Backgrounds!) I can almost feel the temperatures rise as I sit you in comfy Adirondack chair gazing off in the distance. I love how you added the fishing pier and the lone seagull, just a perfect scenic view! Your white caps sparkle and shine and your beach grass sways in the breeze. Love this! Thanks so much for playing along in this week's Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI don't think its to busy at all! I love all the differnt elements you've added and the way your eye bounces from one thing to another. Very well placed! Great job...and yes Donna is lucky to live there in the summer but not sure about the winter. Lol
ReplyDeleteAwesome card design and very much remindfull of a vacation at the beach. I love all you added to make it really wonderful. I was hoping to join in but not sure I can make a beachy scene this time at all. I am just creating in spurts these days. But you certainly inspired me.
ReplyDeleteGenius! Using fabulous frame is genius. Love how the oval sets the pier apart from the other scene. Repeating the birds to draw the two scenes together... genius, I tell you. Love this card.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic Judy. Isn't it funny how we're our own worst critics, when we shouldn't be? I'm so glad you had fun while making this beautiful card, cause it's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!! A tad busy is perfect for this card. If I close my eyes I can hear the ocean waves & seagulls and see you & me (with another chair of course) enjoying a glass of wine....AHHHH!! See how easy it is to get past winter??? lol
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Judy! Makes me want to go to the beach!
ReplyDeleteJudy, there is a famous pier in Naples Florida that everyone goes each night to watch the sunset. This card look like a post card for that pier. Everyone sets their chairs out and pours the wine and watches as the sun sets. How did you know? This depicts it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHey Judy!! I lost your blog for some reason..or you moved, but I have found you now so that is great!!! Love this card, it is amazing!! Love all the colours!! Thanks so much for popping in to visit me, I appreciate it very much! "hugs"
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous beach scene card! That pier reminds me of Myrtle beach . I would love to sit on that chair right now to watch the waves crash in or the sunset pretty soon . The temperature will be in the 40's next week how about that, heat wave. Lol
ReplyDeleteHugs
Beautiful card Judy!! Love the background you made.
