Just Us Girls #351 - Trend Week

 Dear Ones~
It's TREND WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and our host, Vicki, has chosen SPONGING as our trend.

Here is my Sample:
I used some Distress Inks, masked off the bottom half of the card base and sponged the top half. Then I stamped the Designs by Ryn Water Droplets stamp over the sponging. I painted the droplets with clean water and then blotted with a paper towel. It lifts some of the ink off so that the drops look more transparent. Pretty cool, huh?? This is a tip that Ryn shared in this VIDEO. A little touch of white with a gel pen on each drop gives them the appearance of shine. Then I scored some lines below the sponging to finish the look.
Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Heavy Base Weight Card Stock
Distress Inks in-
*Candied Apple
*Abandoned Coral
*Wilted Violet
*Fossilized Amber
Designs by Ryn Water Droplets Stamp
Great Impressions Stamp for Greeting
Stampin' Up and Martha Stewart Butterfly Punches
Signo White Gel Pen

I will be entering this in the Designs by Ryn July Challenge.

Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful cards that our July Guest Designer, Carol, and the rest of the team have made this week. And remember, if you win Chic of the Week in any of our July challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of September (wow, September already???)!!   I hope to see you there.
Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!!

  14. The kiddos left early today, but I needed a bit of time to relax before I got back to my viewing of bogs. This background is just the Bomb! So perfect for the water droplets and that great technique to lift off some of the color. They look so real Judy! Love the bordered sentiment and what it says too.
