Make It Monday - String Art

Dear Ones~
Seems like it's really difficult this summer to squeeze in any craft time. Between grandsons and other commitments the days just seem to fly by.
Today's offering was made for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge. This week we get to play with string. Remember the string art you used to do as a kid? Well that's what we are doing, and it's sooooo much fun!

Here's my card:
I found some variegated tatting thread that worked perfectly for this technique, and the little doily die cut from Papertrey Ink worked really well to do my stitching. I also poked some holes in the bottom corner of my background and stitched a design there too. It's addictive, I tell ya!!! The background splatters were done with a stamp from Stampin' Up and I chose colors to match the thread. They match better in real life.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White and Blue Denim Card stock
PTI Doily Details Die
PTI Botanical Silhouettes Stamp for Greeting
SU Awesomely Artistic Splatter Stamp
SU Inks In:
*Dapper Denim
*Flirty Flamingo
*Pool Party
*Peekaboo Peach
Stash Tatting Thread
This is another one I made. Here I used GKD gold cord to do the stitching, and then splattered watered down glue on the black card stock and sprinkled it with glitter. It's really sparkly IRL.

Thanks for stopping by, I adore your comments. I hope you all have a fantastic week and are enjoying these beautiful summer days. And for those of you who are in the dead of winter, stay warm!!!

  3. OH!!!!!!! I am so glad that I waited to make a comment as these cards deserve my best. Your first card is a colorful card reminding me of summer with the great colors and splatters. The texture of the stitching is so impressive. I loved doing this technique and will probably do it more. Then you come along with a second card in this busy summer. It is also fantastic. What an artist you are in your own right. I love seeing what you come up with. Love this, a winner for sure in my book.

  5. I love your cards. Both are so pretty with those colors and I love the string art designs. I must be a lot older than you as I never did string art myself. The closest I ever got was to crochet a chain or string some paper beads.
