It's a beautiful day here in Northern Michigan. I went on a 2-mile walk, it felt wonderful.
This card has been made for a very special lady who will be turning 100 very soon. I also made it for the Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge. This month we are asked to pick a sketch. Here are the sketches we can chose from.
Here is my card:
This image is from the Power Poppy digi set called Rose and Chamomille. I printed it out and colored it with my Prismacolors. Then I die cut it into an oval and fussy cut one side of the rose. I recently found some liquid stuff called Embossing Dabber by Ranger. It comes in a bottle and you are supposed to dab it onto your paper and use it like Versamark for heat embossing. I discovered that you can paint it on the edge of things with a paint brush and then sprinkle with embossing powder for a pretty embossed edge. Here I did it in gold along the fussy cut edge of the rose. I also did some gold foiling for the greeting with my laminator. Wish the gold showed up better, but there you just are.
Here's a close up of the heat embossing:
Here are the Ingredients:

ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous card. I love how you fussy cut one side of the rose and embossed the bit of gold. I have a Versamark pen that would work to do this. Fussy cutting it and layering it on the black oval makes it pop.
