It's Trend Week over at Just Us Girls, and our host Sue has chosen PINEAPPLES. Yum!!
Here's my example:
Thank goodness I have one pineapple stamp. It has never gotten inky, so this was it's maiden voyage. I kinda like it, will pro'ly use it more often. Here I stamped it three times and paper pieced it with some cute patterned paper. I used the Botanical Gardens patterned paper from Stampin' Up for my background, and the leave fronds are from SU's Botanical Blooms.
Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Fresh Asparagus & Ivory Card Stock
SU Botanical Blooms Patterned Paper
Fresh Squeezed Stamps Friendly Folk Stamp Set
GKD Sunkist Autumn Stamp for Greeting
SU Botanical Blooms Dies and Stamps
Spellbinders Circles and Pinked Circle Dies
Nuvo Crystal Drops
Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful cards that our October Guest Designer, Jaydee, and the rest of the team have made this week. And remember, if you win Chic of the Week in any of our October challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of December!! I hope to see you there.
Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!!
Awesome tropical card!
ReplyDeleteYUM indeed, best experienced in drinks with little umbrellas or on a card as fabulous as this! Great choice in Designer Papers, love the paper piecing, I was already to compliment your beautiful coloring. And your bloom dies look awesome! I. Love. This. (so there!!!)
ReplyDeleteI love the SU Botanical Blooms set -- I just got it! This looks great. Love the pineapples with that patterned paper.
ReplyDeleteThe patterned paper gives a tropical feel to your card, Judy, which is what those darling little pineapples need. I love the deckled edge on the panel.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool and the paper you used to piece those pineapples is perfect. I love the whole design of your card as well. I know others said they had to get really creative to make their pineapples, and the idea occurred to me that perhaps a pinecone might work as well if colored a bit differently.
ReplyDeleteVery cool tropical card. The paper piecing on the pineapples is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWow, you had pineapples I would have to make a pineapple from a pear because that is the only fruit I own. Great card and papers. Love the fun, bright colors.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your paper pieced pineapples....say that three times fast! LOL Your card is full of tropical goodness! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI love pineapple, to eat. I don't have a single pineapple stamp. I would have to do something else. Love what you have done and how you used paper piecing to make then look cute and appetizing. Ther I go thinking of eating them again.
ReplyDeleteYour paper pieced pineapples are adorable! Love the choice of patterned paper, too.
ReplyDeleteI also love to eat pineapple but I also do not have any pineapple stamps

ReplyDeleteJudy, your wonderful background reminds me of a tropical painting I bought many, many years ago on a trip to the Seychelles. Thank you for that little trip down memory lane :-) I love your display of pineapples on the front, it really adds to the tropical feel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for having me along as guest designer this month
Hugs
