Double D - Let's Go to the Beach

Dear Ones~
It's beach weather for sure, especially here in Northern Michigan. We have had a heat wave like no body's business. And how opportune, since the challenge this time over at Double D is - you guessed it - LET'S GO TO THE BEACH.

Here is the fabulous Mood Board for our inspiration:

And here is my card:
I used several different stamp sets for this card. And the background has been watercolored with some new Karin Brush Markers I recently purchased. I love them. You can't really tell, but I fussy cut that Nautilus after I painted it and popped it up. Really makes a difference in the effect. I cut a strip of vellum for the greeting and added some stash gems. A little Stickles finished off the "sand" under the shell.

The Ingredients:
Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Karin Brush Markers
GKD By the Sea 2 Stamp Set
Close to my Heart Perfect Day Stamp Set
Stickles

Ink On 3 - Watercolor Stenciling

Dear Ones~
It is my honor once again to be guest designing for a fabulous company named Ink On 3. This is a wonderful company that offers inks, stamps, dies, stencils, even svg files, and more. Swing on over and check them out. You won't be sorry.

Today I have done a fun technique I like to call Stencil Watercoloring. The stencil image is inked up with no line ink, and then the image is watercolored over the top. Here's my card:

I began by stenciling the image from the Floral Stencil with Ink On 3 Fadeout No-Line Coloring Ink. Then I watercolored over the image.

I used Ink On 3 Atelier Inks in My Jam Purple, Peacock Blue, Goddess Green, Bee Sting Yellow, Twiggy Brown and Marilyn Red. These inks lend themselves beautifully to watercoloring. The blending and reaction with water is amazing.

Next I used the Leafy Forest Stencil on some watercolor paper to create an accent for my card. I used the Atelier Inks in My Jam Purple and Peacock Blue. Then I cut the Floral Stencil image on an angle  and inserted the Leafy Forest Stencil strip between the 2 halves. The greeting is from the Dogwood Flower Stamp Set.

I would invite you to hop on over to the Ink On 3 website and take a look at all the wonderful products offered there. And thanks for stopping by. As always, I adore your comments.

Until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse!!!💗

Mod Squad Challenge - Silhouette Time

Dear Ones~
This time over at Mod Squad it's my turn to host. I have been watching Gina K do a lot of silhouette stamping lately, so I thought I would give it a go.

SPONSOR

Gina K. has been in the stamping industry since 1998 and started Gina K. Designs in 2007. As the business grew, Gina asked her husband Tom to leave his position as an attorney to join her in the business. Together they built StampTV, an online video website featuring broadcast quality paper crafting videos, galleries, A social network for paper crafters and more! Since then they have created a new website called Gina K Designs. Gina now has over 200,000 followers over her various social media networks and video sites from all around the world. Gina’s goal is to continue to offer top quality signature products through her online store Gina K. Designs, along with informative and creative crafting videos. There is also a monthly card challenge, where you have 3 chances to win a $25 gift certificate. Visit that HERE.

PRIZE

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

Here is my card:

For this card I used a new Gina K Designs stamp set called Natural Silhouettes. It’s part of the new Card Kit called Nature’s Touch. The image was stamped on a Distress Oxide background with the GKD Embossing and Watermark Ink, and then heat embossed with GKD Dark Chocolate Embossing Powder. The card base is GKD Moonlit Fog Card Stock, and layered with GKD Dark Chocolate Card Stock. GKD Connect Glue was used to attach all elements.

Glad you stopped by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge Blog and play along. You could win the prize! I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments.

I hope you all are well and staying away from others. These are strange times, aren't we glad we have our craft to keep us sane?

Double D - Stitches

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D we are in stitches - LITERALLY. That's the challenge, any kind of stitching.
Here is our Mood Board for inspiration:

And here is my card:
I recently found this adorable die set from Sizzix. It's called Embroidery Thinlits, and it actually punches the holes so you can cross stitch. It's not as small a thread count as I like, but it was fun to stitch on paper with embroidery floss. For the background I stamped the images on copy paper, crumpled it up, and then inked it up direct to paper with GKD Sandy Beach Ink. Then I tore the edges to create a vintage look. Gina K had recently done this technique in one of her Stamp & Chat videos. Pretty fun to do. And then I thought it would be cute to include a real needle as an embellishment.

The Ingredients:
GKD Kraft and Powder Blue Card Stock
Sizzix Embroidery Thinlits
DMC Embroidery Floss
SU Seaside Spray Ink
GKD Sandy Beach and Powder Blue Ink
SU Very Versailles Stamp Set
