Just Us Girls #382 - Photo Week

Dear Ones~
This week is photo week over at just us girls, and just look at the beautiful photo our gal Sue has provided for inspiration.
And here is my card:
I was recently gifted with this sweet tulip stamp set by Kitchen Sink Stamps, thanks Cindy. It's a multi step set, so there's lots of 3-D  here. The photo doesn't do it justice. I used the SSS stencil Falling Snow for the background, applying some dimensional paste and letting it dry. It's the best I could do with the snow part of the photo.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White and Red Hot Card Stock
SSS Falling Snow Stencil
DecoArt Dimensional Paste
Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders
KSS Multi-Step Tulip Garden
GKD Inks:
*Cranberry Tart
*Red Velvet
*Red Hot
SU Inks:
*Pear Pizzazz
*Old Olie
*Always Artichoke
SU Balloon Pop Up Thinlits for Bow
PTI Tiny Tags
Stash Gold Thread

Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful cards that our February Guest Designer Michele, and the rest of the team have made this week. And remember, if you win Chic of the Week in any of our February challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of April!!   Good luck, and I hope to see you there.

Fine Feathers

 2014

Dear Ones~
The Adored Ones, a.k.a. The Princes are in the castle, but I wanted to take just a minute to write this post for the Papertrey Ink Past, Present and Future Celebration. Today they are celebrating 2014 with some of the wonderful stamps they produced that year.

I have chosen to CASE this beautiful card by Nichole,
Your Wings Exist Card
And here's my take on it:
PTI's Feather Finery Stamp Set is one of my favorites. I love Nichole's clean and simple look here, but I chose to do the card in pink instead of blue. Those dots sprinkled on the feather are so pretty, especially done in Ranger's Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. And then Nichole added a little interest in the bottom corner by punching a hole and adding some glimmery thread. Here I used some gold eyelash yarn I had in my stash.

Here are the ingredients:
GKD White Heavyweight Card Stock
PTI Feather Finery Stamps
PTI Botanical Silhouettes Stamp for Greeting
Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder
SU Blushing Bride Ink

Okay, I'm outa here. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It is sunny and 56 here in Northern Michigan today...what an anomoly!!! Himself took the Princes cross country skiing this morning. I'm not a fan, so I didn't go. Chose to stay home and make this card instead - no brainer. They had a wonderful time!!!
Thanks for all your sweet comments!

Just Us Girls #381 - Color Week

Dear Ones~
This week is COLOR week over at Just Us Girls, and I am the host. I have chosen red, black and kraft as the challenge colors. As usual with color challenges, you are to use all three of the chosen colors as well as any neutrals that you need.  Neutrals are white, ivory, kraft, black, brown or gray.
Here's my card:
I love the flower die here. It's one from Stampin' Up, and it cuts out the negative without completely cutting out the flower. I really like how you can see the underlying background. I stamped the butterfly on red cardstock and heat embossed with black powder before die cutting with the companion die. Then I stuck some black sewing thread behind. I think it's kinda cool.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx, Red Hot and Kraft Card Stock
Paper Studio Everyday Kraft
SU Stylish Stems Framelits
Stampendous Jumbo Lovely Garden for Butterfly
Power Poppy Short Stacks Stamp for Greeting
Stash Ribbon
Please visit the JUST US GIRLS blog to see the wonderful cards that our February Guest Designer Michele, and the rest of the team have made this week. And remember, if you win Chic of the Week in any of our February challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of April!!   Good luck, and I hope to see you there.

Rosie Posie

Dear Ones~
We are going to pick up the Princes tomorrow and will have them until Monday. Guess this will be the last day in my craft room for awhile.  Today I made a card for a couple of challenges. Papertrey Ink is celebrating the past, present, and future. Today they are focusing on the year 2012. And Double D Challenge is asking us to use ric rac or zig zag on our cards. Here is the wonderful panel of tiles they offered to us for inspiration:
http://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2017/02/ric-rac-zig-zag.html

And this is the card I CASED over at Papertrey Ink:
DSC_6708.1
This card was created by Dawn McVey, you can see it on her blog HERE.

So here is my card:

I used a Darice embossing folder called Basket Weave. I thought the texture resembled a zig zag pattern. I fussy cut just one strip of the zig zag from some patterned paper to look like ric rac. I love this PTI stamp set called Rosie Posie, and I thought it would be fun to make the leaves brown instead of green.

Here are the ingredients:
GKD Warm Cocoa and Blue Lagoon Card Stock
PTI Rustic Cream Card Stock
Darice Basket Weave Embossing Folder
Recollections The Sweetest Thing Patterned Paper
PTI Rosie Posie Stamp Set
PTI What the Doodle Feather Stamp for Greeting
GKD Inks In~
*Ocean Mist
*Blue Lagoon
*Kraft
*Warm Cocoa
Nuvo Crystal Drops

Thanks for stopping by. I have another blog to write, so I'm outa here. Your comments mean the world to me!

"STRIPTEASE"

Dear Ones~
Gina from Gina K Designs is hosting a challenge over at Stamp Junkies, and of course the title caught my eye. She's calling it "Striptease" and she has challenged us to include a strip of patterned paper or embossed paper somewhere on our card.

Here's what I came up with:
I felt like watercoloring, so I pulled out my go-to stamp set for using my Zigs. This image is from the GKD Stately Flowers 1 stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger.
I LOVE the poppies, so much fun to color.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Fresh Asparagus and Ivory Card Stock
Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Craft Smith Flower Market Patterned Paper
SU Balloon Pop Up Thinlits for "Ribbon"
SU Oval Layering Dies
Zig Clean Color Brush Markers
Stash Pearls

This is a quicky, but I wanted to play in the fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a great week. Appreciate your comments very much!!!!

Wall Paper and Water Color

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2017/02/february-challenge-say-yes-to-no-lines.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PowerPoppy-TheBlog+%28Power+Poppy+-+The+Blog%29
Dear Ones~
Tonight's card has been created for the Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge for February. The challenge is to color your image so that it looks like there are no lines, just the color. This is usually done by stamping the image with very light ink and then coloring it with your medium of choice. Or, the image can be printed out on your printer in grey scale so that the lines are very light. Well......just shoot me now. This is really, REALLY hard!!!!

Here's my card:

I decided to make this card very simple so that the eye was drawn to the water colored image. As some of you know, I recently purged my craft room and got rid of a TON of stuff, and among all that were 5 wallpaper books that I tossed. But first I went through them and pulled out all the patterns that caught my eye. It makes wonderful background paper. This background has a rich metallic gold look. I thought it made that image pop.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Dark Chocolate Card Stock
Best of Basic Grey Patterned Paper (the teal)
Stash Wallpaper
Power Poppy Springtime Love Stamp
Peerless Water Colors

So that's it for me tonight. I got my hair did today, so I feel pretty...ha ha!!! Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy your kind comments. Hope you have a great week dear readers!!! XO~

Double D Challenge - Lavender and Lace

Dear Ones~
Today's offering was made for the Double D Anniversary Challenge, and this time it's Lavender and Lace. Just look at the beautiful inspirational tiles that they have provided for us.

http://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2017/02/lavender-and-lace.html
Here is my card:
I have recently acquired the new Altenew stamp set Garden Hydrangea, and this is the first time I have gotten it inky. There is a learning curve because it's a 3-step stamp, and I had to use my MISTI to make sure and get all the stamps lined up properly. But I think it's a pretty stamp and I am enjoying it very much.

Here are the Ingredients:
GHD Lovely Lavender and White Card Stock
GKD Persian Garden Patterned Paper
Sizzix Mixed Media 2 Die by Tim Holtz
Altenew Garden Hydrangea Stamp Set
GKD Wild Wisteria & Wild Lilac Ink
SU Elegant Eggplant Ink
SU Wild Wasabi, Old Olive & Always Artichoke Ink
SU Papillion Potpouri Stamp for Butterflies
Stickles
White Ranger Enamel Accents

It's turning warmer here - in the 30's. Maybe Spring is around the corner. We have a long way to go, but we are on the other end of winter. Hope you are having a great weekend, I know I am. Thanks for stopping by, I always adore your comments.

Just Us Girls #380 - Trend Week

Dear Ones~
This week is Trend Week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Vicki has chosen HEARTS! How appropriate with Valentine's Day right around the corner.

Here's is my card:
I had so much fun creating this card. I used the Stampin' Up Sealed With Love stamp set and the Love Notes Framelits. I went with soft colors and embossed the background with the Swiss Dots folder. I love that border die with the matching stamps for the hearts.  Each of the envelopes contains a little message....
so stinkin' cute!!

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
SU Blusing Bride & Sahara Sand Card Stock
SU Sealed with Love Stamp Set
SU Love Notes Framelits
Memory Box LaRue Heart Die
SU Blushing Bride & Sahara Sand Inks

Just Us Girls #379 - Word Week

Dear Ones~
It's WORD week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Lisa has chosen the word "DOGS". How fun is that, who doesn't love a dog?

Here's what I came up with:
Believe it or not, I do not have a single dog stamp. I looked everywhere. But I did find this adorable image in my Cricut library, so I decided to go with that. I used the masking technique to sponge the big moon and the sky with Distress Inks. Then I sprinkled water over for that wonderful texture. I absolutely LOVE the effect that happens with Distress Inks and water. The stars are dots of white gel pen and then Stickles.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx, White and Ocean Mist Card Stock
Cricut A Child's Year Cartridge
Distress Inks in Various Colors
Florishes Medallion Motif Stamp for Greeting

I would like to welcome our February Guest Designer, Michele Greenwood. Michele is super talented, as you can see by visiting her blog. Go check out her awesome work.

And remember, if you win Chic of the Week in any of our February challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of April!!   I hope to see you there.

Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!!

MOD SQUAD - Hearts and Flowers

Dear Ones~

I am the host this week over at the Mod Squad Challenge, and I have chosen Hearts and Flowers as the theme. I am asking you to use both HEARTS and FLOWERS somewhere on your card.

Our sponsor for the first Wednesday of every month is
Gina K Designs.

 Gina K Designs Craft store

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

Here is my card:
I have seen lots of You Tube videos lately using this masking technique. I cut a heart out of thin copy paper, used it as a mask, and then stamped the flower and leaf images around it to form a wreath of sorts. Then I used another heart to hold the greeting and popped it up for dimension. It is heat embossed around the edge with Ranger Platinum Embossing Powder, as is the greeting itself. I used GKD Triple Play Frame, and GKD Fabulous Frame Fillers for the flowers and leaves, and the greeting is from the GKD Stately Flowers 6 Stamp Set. The patterned paper is from the GKD Floral Essentials patterned paper stack.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments.
