Can You Handle the Pressure - Butterflies

Dear Ones~

  There's a new challenge over at Can You Handle the Pressure.   For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER on your project.  Heat embossing (with embossing powder) is permitted but only IN ADDITION to your embossing folder design.  Each new challenge will have a 'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

Here's my card:

I am using some items that are in Gina K's new kit for the month of June called Vintage Summer. The images in the kit are lovely, I'm really enjoying using it. I embossed the background with the GKD Petite Flourish embossing folder, rubbed a Versamark pad across the raised part, and then used gold embossing powder for this pretty look. The butterfly was stamped with Versamark onto some Crafter's Companion patterned paper and gold heat embossed too. I think it's so pretty.

 

 

Here is a close up of the butterfly. The photo really doesn't do the detail justice, it's a gorgeous stamp.

Double D - Color Challenge

Dear Ones~

There's a new challenge up over at Double D, and this time it's a COLOR CHALLENGE. Here's the Mood Board for inspiration. You must use one of the drink colors for your project.

I chose the bottom right photo for my color inspiration. I realized after I had done it that there was more green than blue, but there is blue here, so I think it's all good. I just love that silly image from Stampin' Up. It's a set called Hey, Chick. It might be retired, but I think it's so stinkin' fun.

We had a wildfire near us here in Northern Michigan over the weekend. It's 90% contained, but they are watching it very closely. Any strong wind could lift a spark and start it up again. PLEASE, if it is dry in your area, don't have a campfire. That's what started this one, and over 2000 acres have been lost. This is what stupidity looks like:

Well, it's been a minute since I have written a blog post. We have been away on a trip out West, and while it was a fabulous experience, it's hard to get back in the saddle (no pun intended, lol). I love this stamp set by Stampin' Up called Bottled Happiness and the image reminded me of the photo in the lower left. This stamp set is simple to use, and there are so many possibilities. I made several of these recently with all kinds of different patterned papers and colors.
