Double D - Butterflies

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D we are having fun with butterflies. Just look at this amazing Mood Board for our inspiration:

Here's my card:
I have had this Hot off the Press stamp set for awhile, so I thought this was the perfect time to break it in. It's called Art Nouveau and I just love it. Very retro! I white heat embossed the butterfly image on vellum and then colored some of the sections on the back with SU alcohol markers. Then I attached the vellum panel with brads to a piece of Hot off the Press patterned paper. I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut out a bunch of little butterflies in vellum and attached them to the panel, and then embellished with Stickles.

Here's a close up of the image:
Here are the Ingredients:
Stampin' Up Soft Sky Card Stock
Stampin' Up Perfect Plum Card Stock
HOTP Twilight Jewels Patterned Paper
HOTP Art Nouveau Stamp Set
GKD Fabulous Flowers Stamp for Greeting
Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch
CTMH Eggplant Ink
GKD Clear Embossing Powder

I would love it if you would stop on over to the Double D Blog to see what the other designers have created. And if you play along you could win this beautiful set!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a great week. Don't forget to swing by Double D and check us out.  Oh, and I so appreciate your lovely comments!!!

Stamp TV - Gray is the New Black

Dear Ones~
Today I made a card for the Stamp TV Monthly Mix Challenge. It has been so long since I have played a challenge over at Stamp TV I can't even remember when it was. Shame on me!!! They are great challenges, offer a great prize, and you get a whole month to get your act together. NO excuses.

So, as you can see by my post title, the challenge this month is to use gray as your main color. Here is my card.
I love the idea of using gray instead of black. Gray is highly under-utilized and it deserves more respect, don't you think? So, for the background panel I did some tone on tone stamping with a stamp from the Dazzling Dahlia Stamp Set. I used Versamark and clear embossing powder.  And I really like that tag die cut, it's from Gina K Designs Decorative Tags die set. The sweet stitching around the edge just adds so much. The flowers are from the Tropical Blooms stamp set which is part of the Hearts and Flowers kit.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Slate and White Card Stock
Recollections Storm Clouds Card Stock
GKD Poppy Prints Patterned Paper
GKD Tropical Flowers Stamp Set
GKD Dazzling Dahlia Stamp Set
GKD Inks in:
*Lipstick Red
*Red Velvet
*Lucky Clover
*Key Lime
GKD Decorative Tag Die Set
Ranger Black Enamel Accents

Thanks for stopping by, I love your comments. I hope you are having a good week, see you soon!

Come to the Dark Side

Dear Ones~
This time over at the Mod Squad it's my turn to host. I have chosen to do some coloring on dark card stock. You can use black, dark brown, or any other dark color, and then use colored pencils or other color mediums such as chalk so that your image will show up. You could also use bleach to lighten the image and then color it with markers. Watch a video Gina did showing this technique HERE.

The base card stock is GKD Tranquil Teal, with GKD Gold Metallic Card Stock used as a mat. The image was stamped with Versamark on GKD Black Onyx Card Stock and gold heat embossed with GKD Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.
And here's another card:
For this card I used the GKD Rose Bouquet Stamp set and Plum Punch Card Stock for the base. The greeting is from that same You Get Me stamp set.
