Double D - Basket of Posies

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the challenge is BASKET FULL OF POSIES. Lots of possibilities with this one. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

Here's what I came up with:
I have had this Market Baskets die set by The Greetery for awhile and it had yet to see the die cutting machine. I thought it was time to fix that. I love this die set, it's so charming and unusual. The Simply Perfect Layered Blooms die set by Spellbinders is really fun because it has a shape at the bottom of each piece to help you fit everything together perfectly.

The Ingredients:
GKD Silver and White Card Stock
Paper Studio Stargazer Patterned Paper
Scrapbook.Com Cools Card Stock
SU Tufted Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Summer Label Motifs Dies
Spellbinders Simply Perfect Layered Blooms Dies
The Greetery Market Baskets Dies
Concord and 9th Bouquet Dies
SU Teeny Tiny Wishes for Greeting
Trinity Stamps Silver Baubles

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win this absolutely wonderful stamp set by Neat and Tangled. I just love it!!!  Also, don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

Double D - NAUTICAL

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the challenge is NAUTICAL. Lots of possibilities with this one. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

Here's my card:
I don't have too many supplies that would help create a nautical theme, but I managed to find enough to design this card.  I thought the hemp cord was a good embellishment as it looks like a rope you would use on an anchor or to tie a boat to a slip. That vellum circle adds a whimsical touch, don't you think?

The Ingredients:
GKD White and Kraft Card Stock
Paper Studios Be Bold Be Bright Patterned Paper
Spellbinders Elegant Circles Die for Vellum
SU Sea of Textures Stamp and Die Set
SU Under the Sea Dies
SU Sailing Along and Smooth Sailing Stamps and Dies
Elizabeth Crafts Borders and Trims Dies
Hemp Cord
Trinity Stamps Gold Baubles

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win this totally ADORABLE die set from Cottage Cutz. I just love it!!!  Also, don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

Double D - REACH FOR THE STARS

Dear Ones~
We are seeing STARS this time over at Double D. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

This is what I came up with:
Oh my STARS, this was a hard one for me. I just don't have a lot of star stuff. But I spied a very old paper pack by DCWV called The Stardust Stack. BINGO!!! I used a few things on this card that I found in my stash and I have no idea where they came from. The white and gold panel is stenciled with Lunar Paste in Slippery When Wet, but I don't know the stencil name. Those gold rings are a die that I found with some other stuff and I have no clue where that came from either. I do know it's from Stampin' Up.

The Ingredients:
SU Merry Merlot Card Stock
GKD White Card Stock
DCWV The Stardust Stack Patterned Paper
Quick Kutz Star Nesting Dies
SU Teeny Tiny Wishes
Slippery When Wet Lunar Paste
Stash Circle Dies and Star Stencil
Stash Baubles

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win this fabulous stencil set. I would love to win that!!!  Also, don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

 Here's my card:
This is an old wood mount stamp that I purchased from Michael's many years ago. I think it's so dear. I watercolored her with Mission Gold and Zigs. The shell is watercolored with Zigs. I chose something OLD, something NEW and something BLUE. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

This is my sample:
I really enjoyed making this card. I used a very old GKD stamp by Melanie Muenchinger called Inspiration Mosaic and stamped it on some old patterned paper. I used several new stamps in the various squares using the masking technique, so fun to do. That bee stamp and the die cuts are new as well.

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

FRUITS & VEGGIES
 Here's my sample:
Boy, I just don't have many fruits and veggies to chose from. But I do have this pretty retired stamp from a Stampin' Up set called Nature's Pace that I colored with my Prismas. It's small and this is a mini square card, but I love it. I thought the fern embossing folder from Stampin' Up went perfectly with the image and the patterned paper colors went well too.

The Ingredients:
SU Merry Merlot Cardstock
GKD White Cardstock
Tim Holtz Silver Metallic Cardstock
Panalissa Patterned Paper
SU Fern Embossing Folder
GKD Tapestry Embossing Folder
SU Nature's Pace Stamp Set
Prisma Color Pencils
GKD Stamp for Greeting, Set Unknown

Double D - POLKA DOTS

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the challenge is anything POLKA DOTS. How FUUUUN!!! Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration, just look at all those DOTS:

And this is what I came up with:
I just love this Curved Floral Banner die from Gina K and I haven't used it for awhile. This time I inlaid all the spaces with different polka dot patterned paper. It was a little fussy, but I enjoy doing it. Kinda like working a puzzle and I find it very relaxing. I cut the shape with gold metallic paper first and then pasted it on a blank die cut. It was fun.

The Ingredients:
Recollections Gray Cardstock
GKD White Cardstock
GKD Curved Floral Banner Die
Pebbles Basic Patterned Paper
Tim Holtz Gold Metallic Paper
Martha Steward Border Punch
SU Teeny Tiny Wishes

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win this absolutely darling little mini stencil. I just love it!!!  Also, don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

Double D - WATER RELATED

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the challenge is anything WATER RELATED. Lots of possibilities with this one. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

 Here's my card:

I was hard put to come up with something for this one. I really don't have much in the way of water-related images. But then I remembered I had this fabulous stamp by Designs by Ryn. It's so fun to use and with a little tweeking with some white gel pen the drops look pretty realistic. That moth is from the Tim Holtz Funky Insects die set. Another of my favorites. The background is a stencil called Paint Splatter by Lawn Fawn.

A close up of the bug. I think it's a moth of some sort, and I added an extra layer of vellum for the wings. Love doing that.

The Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
Scrapbook.com Cools Card Stock Pad
Lawn Fawn Paint Splatter Background Stencil
SU Pool Party & Marina Mist Inks
