Can You Handle the Pressure - NAUTICAL

 

Dear Ones~

  There's a new challenge over at Can You Handle the Pressure.   For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER on your project.  Heat embossing (with embossing powder) is permitted but only IN ADDITION to your embossing folder design.  Each new challenge will have a 'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

 Here is my sample:

I'm quite disappointed in how this card photographed. It looks like black, but all the dark elements are really navy blue. The embossed panel is from a SU embossing folder called Cable Knit. I thought the cable looked like rope, so I used it for that panel on the side. I love how it looks. Most of the elements on this card have come from a stamp and die set by Stampin' Up called Sailing home.

Double D - Christmas in July

Here it is in the low 90s, but it's July and time for CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!! Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

For this one I pulled out a GKD kit from a couple of years ago. Figured I needed to use some oldies but goodies. This is from the Perfect Poinsettia. It's a multi-stamp set, a bit challenging to figure out, but I think it's gorgeous. The beautiful ornate oval frame is from the newest Master Layouts collection from Gina. It's Master Layouts 12, and there are some real stunners in this die set.

Here is my sample:

I don't really have much in the way of stars in my stash, but I do have this Stampin' Up star die set. It's pretty and I think it works. I have been playing with watercolor backgrounds, so I used one of the panels that I had created, and there are silver stars stenciled over the watercolor. Hard to see in the photo, but they are there. I have some holographic card stock from Michaels and I used that for the embossed panel. I also embossed the glittered card stock.

Double D - The Great Outdoors

Dear Ones~

The challenge this time over at Double D is THE GREAT OUTDOORS! Here's the Mood Board for our inspiration:

I love the look of this card. That background patterned paper is from a pack by Stamperia called Forest. Stamperia has some of the most beautiful and artistic papers out there, I can't get enough of them. One of the other things I love about these papers is there are all kinds of cut outs that you can use to enhance your creation. This greeting is one of them.
