Happily Ever After

Dear Ones~
It has been quite some time since I have posted anything here on the old blog. Grand kids, family reunion, visiting my dad, you name it....life is getting in the way.

Today's offering has been made for the Double D Challenge. Since June is traditionally wedding month, we are invited to create anything that has to do with weddings. Just look at the beautiful Mood Board Diane and Dar have provided for us.
 http://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2017/06/june-is-wedding-month.html
 And here's my card:
I found this awesome svg file for free on SVGCuts.com. It works perfectly with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I have had so much fun with that machine - it amazes me!!! After cutting the pattern and layering on the card front (there are 3 layers), I added a stamped and embossed greeting which I colored with Stampin' Write Markers and cut with an oval die. I added a little silver thread behind the greeting and finally, attached some stash pearls.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
SVG File from Stash
SU That's the Tag stamp for Greeting
GKD Silver Embossing Powder
Stampin' Write Markers
SU Nesting Oval Dies
Stash Silver Thread
Stash Pearls

It feels so good to actually do a post again. Hopefully I will find more time now that the flurry of activity has passed. Time will tell. Thanks so much for stopping by, you always leave such lovely comments. I truly appreciate every single one!

Just Us Girls #399 - Photo Week

Dear Ones~
This week is photo week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Lisa has chosen this awesome photo for our inspiration.
Image result for summer vacation images

Aren't those gorgeous colors, so many possibilities with this one. Here's what I came up with:
To me, flip flops scream SUMMER VACATION, so I decided to stamp four pairs of them on these little 2" white panels and paper piece them all in the different colors reflected in the photo. LOTS of fussy cutting, but it was fun. I used SU markers to color in the straps and soles. Then I punched out wee little flowers with the same colored card stock and embellished the thong of each sandal. Of course I had to put a little gem in the middle of each flower for extra glam.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
GKD Sweet Mango Card Stock
GKD Jellybean Green Card Stock
GKD Passionate Pink Card Stock
GKD Turquoise Sea Card Stock
GKD Hello Sunshine Stamp Set
Colorbök Beach House Patterned Paper
Martha Stewart Flower Punch
SU Markers
Stash Gems

Just Us Girls #398 - Color Week

Dear Ones!
It's COLOR week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Bobby has chosen yellow, aqua and brown. As always with color challenges, you are to use ONLY the three chosen colors as well as any neutrals that you need.  Neutrals are white, ivory, kraft, black, brown or gray.

Here's my Sample:
I found these colors to be challenging, but I came up with stamping the images vertically, masking when needed,  and then fussy cutting to create a pretty edge.

I used Altenew's Garden Treasure stamp set, which lends itself nicely to the color palette. They are multi-step stamps so I didn't need to do any coloring. I attached the brown panel to the inside after I embossed it with the Darice Basket Weave embossing folder, so it shows up on the outside and showcases the florals.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Ivory Card Stock
GKD Dark Chocolate Card Stock
Stash Gold Foil Card Stock
Altenew Garden Treasures Stamp Set
SU Inks in:
*Tempting Turquoise
*Island Indigo
*Soft Sky
*Crushed Curry
*So Saffron
*Early Expresso
SU Nesting Circle Dies
Stash Gold Thread

Just us Girls #397 - Trend Week

Dear Ones~
This week is Trend Week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Chris has invited us to use powdered dyes on our card. This would be powdered inks such as Brushos or Color Burst.

Here is my card:
I have used Brushos here, they are all I have. Just sprinkled with green and turquoise and then spritzed. The flower is a new stamp I just got from Heartfelt Creations called Classic Petunia Bouquet. It has a companion die, so that's what I used to cut the image. I colored it with Derwent Watercolor Pencils. Haven't used them in forever. The image was stamped on watercolor paper. The patterned strip behind the flowers is from a Sizzix embossing folder, and I'm sorry but I don't know the name.

Here are the Ingredients:
Michael's 110 lb Turquoise Card Stock
GKD Ivory Card Stock
Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper
Green and Turquoise Brushos
Heartfelt Creations Classic Petunia Bouquet Stamp
GKD Wild Blossoms Stamp for Greeting
SU Basic Black Ink
Derwent Watercolor Pencils
Sizzix Embossing Folder
Buttermilk Crystal Drops

Mod Squad Challenge - Spark It Up

Dear Ones~
I am the host for this week's Mod Squad Challenge, and my challenge is to Spark It Up. Use sparkle somewhere on your project.
The sponsor this week is Gina K Designs and Stamp TV
Stamp TV is a free online community featuring card making, stamping techniques and project videos for paper crafters using stamps and other products by Gina K. Designs. Be sure to check out StampTV for a ton of great videos and techniques. They also have weekly challenges. Shop Gina K Designs.

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.
Here is my example:
For this card I used a die from Spellbinders called Glass Effects. I die cut in GKD Black Onyx, plus in 3 other colors of glitter paper. Then I adhered the black die cut to some lavender paper, and inlaid the other colors of glitter paper here and there for a stained glass look. The flowers are from the Gina K Designs Stamp TV Kit Flowers and Frames. They were colored with Copics. I used a couple of Martha Stewart punches for the leaves.
Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx Card Stock
Paper Studio Glitter Stack Card Stock
Spellbinders Glass Effects Cover Plate Die
STV Flowers and Frames Kit Stamps
GKD Wild Blossoms Stamp for Greeting
Martha Stewart Punches
Copic Markers
Stickles
Wink of Stella
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments.

Just Us Girls 396 - Word Week

 Dear Ones~
This week is Word Week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Ina has chosen the word Die-Cuts. Easy, peasy, right?

Here's my card:
I have had this dream catcher die for awhile and this is the first time I have used it. I love it.....don't you? I cut it from white card stock and then did several layers of heat embossing with Ranger's Antiquities embossing powder in Verdigris. I really like the rustic look. The gold background is some wallpaper that I stamped with the feather stamp from GKD and then gold embossed it. Then I cropped it at an angle and die cut the pattern with Tim Holtz's Mixed Media Die. The other background paper is from Paper Wishes from their Twilight Jewels line.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Blue Denim Card Stock
SU Soft Sky Card Stock
HOTP Twilight Jewels Patterned Paper
Stash Wallpaper
GKD Fine Feathers Stamp
GKD Fine Gold Embossing Powder
Spellbinder's Dream Catcher Die
Tim Holtz Mixed Media Die
Ranger Antiquities Verdigris Embossing Powder
GKD Cottage Garden Stamp for Greeting
Stash Gems
