Double D - Pick A Pattern

Dear Ones~
It's time for another Double D Challenge over at the Double D Challenge Blog. This time we are playing with patterns. Here is the Mood Board for your inspiration:

Lots of different patterns here. This is the card I came up with:

I love the red and white patterns in the upper right corner of the Mood Board, so I thought I would pick up on that theme. For the background panel I used a piece of SU Cajun Craze card stock and stamped all over with Versamark using the GKD Simply Flowers stamp set to imitate the red fabric with the white circles. Then I white heat embossed. I love how it turned out. The other 2 patterns are from a stack called Basics by the Pebbles Company. The flowers are die cut from the MFT Stitched Flowers dies.

The Ingredients:
*SU Cajun Craze Card
*GKD White and Warm Cocoa Card
*GKD Simply Flowers Stamp Set
*SU Good Morning Magnolia stamp for greeting
MFT Stitched Flowers Dies
SU Rectangle Stitched Frame Die for Greeting
Pebbles Basics Paper Pad
Autumn Red Nuvo Drops

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you would win this fabulous paper pad. And don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

So that's it for me, thanks for stopping by. I adore your comments, they always make me smile. And don't forget to stop over at Double D, there is always so much inspiration there.

MSC Challenge - Total Eclipse of the Card

Dear Ones~
I can't believe it's June already. The leaves are finally on the trees and our flowers are blooming. It was a long time coming this year. Today I'm hosting the Mod Squad Challenge Blog, and I have chosen to do the Eclipse Technique. What is the Eclipse Technique you ask? Well head on over to the lovely Karen Hightower’s YouTube Channel HERE and watch her video. The way that she applies the “hello” on her card is called the Eclipse Technique. Use any die for this technique, it does not have to be a word die.

And here is my card:
For this card I used the Gina K Designs Elegant Asters stamp set and the Hello Die. Card stocks are Barely There, Coral Reef and Black Onyx. Inks are Coral Reef, Tangerine Twist, Innocent Pink and Black Amalgam.  To do the sponged circle behind the greeting I used GKD Masking Magic Masking Paper.
I first made a mask by die cutting a circle from the masking paper. I applied it to my card front and sponged the circle. After removing the mask, I stamped the flowers and leaves right over the sponging with Amalgam ink and then colored them with Copics. I die cut the HELLO from the card front, made 3 black die cuts of the HELLO as well, and stacked them together. In Karen's video she used foam tape to pop up the die cut, I used the layers. The final touch was to apply some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Buttermilk.

Glad you stopped by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. You could win the prize! I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments!

Double D - Rose Garden

Dear Ones~
It's time for another challenge over at the Double D Challenge Blog. Our challenge this time is to use roses - handmade, stamped, die cut or purchased. Just look at this beautiful Mood Board for our inspiration:

Here's my card:
I decided to do yellow roses for a change. I mostly do pink or red, so I thought I would change it up a bit. I love that embossing folder, it's really beautiful in real life. The roses are done with the Altenew stamp set called Vintage Roses. There are 4 stamps to the image. The trick is to pick the ink colors for the best effect. Sometimes it takes me several tries before I get just the right combination.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD  Lemon Drop and White Card Stock
Tim Holtz Botanical Embossing Folder
Altenew Vintage Roses  Stamp Set
GKD Beautiful Day Stamp for Greeting
Altenew Honey Drizzle, Fresh Lemon, and Evergreen Inks
SU Mint Macaron, Wild Wasabi and Crushed Curry Inks
GKD Warm Cocoa Ink for Greeting
SU Smooth Sailing Die for Greeting
Stickles for Flower Centers
If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you would win this beautiful die set. And don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

So that's it for me, thanks for stopping by. I adore your comments, they always make me smile. And don't forget to stop over at Double D, there is always so much inspiration there.
