Can You Handle the Pressure - Things with Wings

Dear Ones~
There's a new challenge up over at Can You Handle the Pressure. This time the theme  is THINGS WITH WINGS. Here is my card:
I LOVE the Tim Holtz die set Funky Insects. I decided to cut everything out in white to see what it looked like and I really thought it was cool. I die cut 4 rectangles from the GKD Master Layouts 4 die set (they look like postage stamps)  and then embossed each of them with a different embossing folder. Then I added some die cut elements on the moth for an organic look. I really like how this turned out and will be doing more of those critters with flowers and leaves attached to them. I think they look so whimsical.

Here is a close up of the moth.

Can You Handle the Pressure? - BIRDS

Dear Ones~
There's a new challenge up over at Can You Handle the Pressure.   For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER on your project.  Heat (wet) embossing is permitted but only in addition to your embossing folder design.  Each new challenge will have a 'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

BIRDS

  Here's my card:
I recently purchased some Nuvo Shimmer Powders, and they are so much fun. I had a go playing with them on a piece of watercolor paper, and the result is what I used to die cut the bird and flowers. I love how she turned out. I die cut a circle, embossed it with the SU Stripes and Splatters embossing folder and then sponged around the edge with Rococo Rose Ink from SU. I placed it behind the bird, thought it showed her off nicely. And I like the soft gray background instead of white or ivory. I feel like it really makes the die cut elements pop.

The Ingredients:
Stampin' Up Blackberry Bliss Card Stock
Tim Holtz Gold Metallic Card Stock
Recollections Stormy Sky Card Stock
Sizzix Tropical Leaves Embossing Folder
SU Stripes and Splatters Embossing Folder
SU Layering Circles Die
SU Rococo Rose Ink
Sizzix Bird Scene Die Set
Sizzix Geo Floral Frame Die
Spellbinders Mini Blooms and Sprigs Die Set for Flowers and Leaves
Spellbinders Yana's Sentiments for Greeting
GKD Master Layouts 2 Die Set

CHANNELING GINA - GKD Monthly Mix Challenge

 Dear Ones~

It is an honor, and my great good pleasure, to be hosting the June Monthly Mix Challenge over at Gina K Designs. Thank you Gina and Karen for inviting me!!

I have been a fan of Gina's for so many years I have lost count. She is the one who inspired me to get into card making and I have never looked back. I have made many, many wonderful friends because of Stamp TV. Thank you, Gina!

My challenge for you this time is CHANNELING GINA. I am inviting you to chose one of Gina's videos and make it your own. Put your own twist on it, but keep the technique or design that she has featured in her video. The link to her videos is HERE. The video I chose to use is HERE. It is called Colored Pencils on Kraft Card Stock

Here is my card:
I chose to use Innocent Pink Card Stock instead of Kraft, and I hand stamped the floral spray by using Masking Magic and images from Arjita's and Lisa's stamp sets. I colored the resulting image with my Prisma Colors and Gamsol, highlighting it with my white gel pen, and fussy cutting it out. Then I mounted it onto a piece of White Heavy Weight Card Stock, which I scored to create a lattice look. The die cut HELLO from the A Little Hello Layering Stencil Bundle, along with a vellum die cut silhouette behind, finished off the piece. This is a 5x7 card.

The Ingredients:

GKD Heavy White, Black Onyx and Innocent Pink Card Stock
GKD Obsidian Amalgam Ink
GKD Masking Magic
GKD Bloomin' Wild Stamp Set
GKD Grateful Spray Stamp Set
GKD Count It All Joy Stamp Set
GKD A Little Hello Layering Stencil Bundle
Master Layouts 8 Die Set
Prisma Color Pencils with Gamsol

I do hope you will join us for this month's challenge. If you play along you could win one of three $25 gift certificates. I can't wait to see your creations.

Thank you for your lovely comments, as always they make me smile.
And until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse.

Hugs~
