Can You Handle the Pressure - Birds

 Dear Ones~
There's a new challenge over at Can You Handle the Pressure.   For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER on your project.  Heat embossing (with embossing powder) is permitted but only IN ADDITION to your embossing folder design.  Each new challenge will have a 'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

BIRDS

 Here's my sample:

I had  lot of fun making this card. It's called a Faux Shutter Card or Fracture Card. I learned about it from this YouTube video HERE.  I thought it would be fun to dry emboss 4 different colors of pastel card stock with 4 different embossing folders. Since the papers were plain, I chose to use a gold patterned paper for the thin strips. That sweet dove is a new little die from Simon Says Stamp. It has several different pieces, but one die plate, so you can cut all the pieces at once. I like that.

I cut the pieces out of a cream color card stock and sponged each piece with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Double D - Green/Clover/ Shamrocks/Luck

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the challenge is GREEN/CLOVER/SHAMROCKS/LUCK. What a great challenge for this time of year,  since we just celebrated St. Paddy's Day. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

This is what I came up with:
I found this cute little digi stamp online. I don't know who the artist is, but I thought he fit the bill nicely for this challenge. I colored him with my Zigs. The papers are also digital from a St. Patrick's Day pad.

Here's a close up of him. Sláinte means "to your health" in both Irish and Scottish Gaelic. It is commonly used as a drinking toast in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.

BLING
 Here's my card:
I LOVE me some bling, so this card was really fun to make. I used a background stamp, heat embossed it in "blingy" gold and then fussy cut just the circle and dragonfly. The card base is gold, as is the strip in the background. I added lots of gems for more bling. So much shine on this card my retinas are burning....lol. And don't you just love that greeting. Good 'ole Picasso knew what he was talking about.

SU Painted Textures Embossing Folder
SU Stripes and Splatters Embossing Folder
Dragonfly Background Stamp  - Made in China
