Flowers, Flower Everywhere

Here's my card:
I stamped the images from GKD's stamp set Wild Blossoms, attached the matted panel to my card base, and then overlaid the whole front with vellum. I love the soft look it created. I have used some of the new In Colors from Stampin' Up. I'm really warming up to them, it was super fun to stamp this panel. I die cut the butterfly from some glitter paper that matched that gorgeous Berry Burst color, and die cut the "hello" with a Tranquil Tide and Berry Burst card stock and then stacked them together.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White Card Stock
SU Berry Burst Card
Tranquil Tide Card
SU Inks In:
*Berry Burst
Tranquil Tide
*Blushing Bride
GKD Wild Blossoms Stamps
Die-namics Happy Hello Die
SU Bold Butterfly Thinlits
Paper Studio Glitter Stack
Clear Crystal Drops

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your comments so much! It has been sunny here most of the day, perfect for putting something on the grill. Have a great week and I hope to see you back here soon. My computer has been acting up, so I fear I will be taking it to the Apple Hospital tomorrow for a check up. I may be out of commission for a few days.

Hugs,

Just Us Girls #395 - Photo Week

Dear Ones~
This week is photo week over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Nancy has provided us with this beautiful photo for our inspiration. Aren't those cookies gorgeous? Way too beautiful to eat!!!
And here is my card:

I had a terrible time photographing this. I just could not get the lighting right. But I did the best I could. Of course I chose to do an all white card, using a pearlized card stock. That Mixed Media 2 die from Tim Holtz seemed to fit the bill to recreate the texture of that beautiful cookie. I used the Darice Circle Interlock embossing folder for that fishtail banner and added Crystal Drops for accents. The butterfly is from Cheery Lynn. I think it might be retired because I couldn't find it on their website. The bow was tied using Gina's method.

Here are the Ingredients:
Core' dinations Pearlized Card Stock
Darice Circle Interlock Embossing Folder
Tim Holtz Mixed Media 2 Die
Cheery Lynn Butterfly
Ivory Seashell Crystal Drops
Stash Ribbon

Just Us Girls #393 - Trend Week

 Dear Ones!
This week it's TREND WEEK over at Just Us Girls, and our gal Sue has invited us to make a background using inks, Distress Oxide, Distress or otherwise. Here is my card:

I chose to use Oxides in Wilted Violet and Faded Jeans. I sponged the inks onto a piece of GKD Foilable Image Sheet, placed a piece of silver foil over the sheet when I was done sponging, and ran it through my laminator. The result is this beautiful silver foiled background. It's really stunning in real life - foiling is so difficult to photograph. The medallion is from Stampin' Up, a multi-step stamp set called Make a Medallion. I stamped it in the same Oxide Ink colors as the background.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD White and Vibrant Violet Card Stock
Stash Silver Foiled Card Stock
GKD Foil Image Sheet from the Sending Love STV Kit
Wilted Violet and Faded Jeans Oxide Inks
SU Make a Medallion Stamp Set
GKD Fabulous Frame Stamp for Greeting
GKD Silver Embossing Powder
SU Nesting Circles Dies

Garden Gate

Dear Ones~
Today's offering has been made for the Stamp TV Monday Challenge. This week Cat has asked us to use THIS....or THAT. THIS is an embossing folder, THAT is vellum. We can use either one. I chose both.

Here's my card:
Isn't this image adorable? It's part of a GKD's stamp set called Cottage Garden, by Claire Brennan. I love all of Claire's work. I stamped the image on GKD heavy weight card stock and colored it with my Stampin' Up Markers. I heat embossed the greeting on vellum and attached it to the panel that was die cut with a stitched scalloped rectangle. The background is white card stock that has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder. I fussy cut the little blue birds and popped them up with dimensionals. The flowers were punched from various stash punches.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Red Hot and White Card Stock
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder
Die-namics Stitched Mini Scalloped Rectangle
GKD Cottage Garden Stamp Set
Stash Flower Punches
Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops

Thanks for stopping by, I adore your comments. And don't forget to head over to the Stamp TV Challenge and play along. You could win a $20 gift voucher if you use Gina K stamps.

Happy Fourth!!!!

Dear Ones~
This is my second blog post for today. I'm on a roll. This card has been made for the
This time we are invited to use red, white and blue
and/or stars and stripes.

http://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2017/05/redwhiteblue-optional-stars-stripes.html
Here is what I came up with:
This was a fun challenge. I die cut the Spellbinders Diagonal Chevron cover plate with both GKD Blue Denim and the star patterned paper. Then I inlaid the patterned paper into the blue denim die cut. I love doing that.....so satisfying when the pieces fit perfectly. I had some gold eyelash yarn that I thought would be great to attach to the underside of the star to look the tail of a comet. I dunno - maybe it doesn't look like a comet's tail, but I like it. And I layered a couple of die cut buttons from PTI in the middle of the star.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Blue Denim, Tomato Soup and White Card Stock
Basic Grey Life of the Party Patterned Paper
Spellinders Diagonal Chevron Die
Quick Cuts Nesting Stars Dies
PTI Button Stack Dies
GKD Holiday Frame Stamp for Greeting
Stash Gold Cord on Buttons
Stash Brass Dots

I'm so happy that you stopped by!
Thank you for your wonderful comments.

Mod Squad Challenge -Positively Negative

Dear Ones~
This week over at The Mod Squad Challenge it is my great good pleasure to be the host. For the challenge I have chosen the technique Positively Negative. My challenge is for you to create 2 different images, one light and one dark, then cut them in half and connect the POSITIVE and the NEGATIVE together. Confused? Read on, it will all become clear.

The sponsor this week is Gina K Designs and Stamp TV
Stamp TV is a free online community featuring card making, stamping techniques and project videos for paper crafters using stamps and other products by Gina K. Designs. Be sure to check out StampTV for a ton of great videos and techniques. They also have weekly challenges. Shop Gina K Designs.

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

 Here is my first example:
As you can see, I stamped the feather from the Gina K Designs stamp set Fine Feathers on white card stock with Gina K Designs Blue Lagoon Ink. Then I stamped it again on Blue Lagoon card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder. I then cut each image in half and attached the positive (white card stock) to the negative (Blue Lagoon) card stock. The patterned paper is from Gina K Designs Here Comes the Sun patterned paper pack.
Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx, White and Blue Lagoon Card Stock
GKD Here Comes the Sun Patterned Paper
GKD Fine Feathers Stamp Set
Versamark Ink
GKE White Embossing Powder
GKD Blue Lagoon and Black Onyx Ink
Nuvo Crystal Drops

And here is my next example:
Same steps with the stamps here. For this card I used an older Gina K Designs butterfly stamp from the set called Birthday Blessings. Inks and card stock are Gina K Designs Red Hot. The patterned paper is again from the Here Comes the Sun patterned paper.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Red Hot and White Card Stock
GKD Here Comes the Sun Patterned Paper
GKD Birthday Blessings Stamp
GKD Red Hot Ink
Versamark Ink
GKD White Embossing Powder
SU Nesting Circles Die
Martha Stewart Lacy Punch
Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder
Stash Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments.
