Dies R Us Christmas Candle

Dear Ones~
Hello, and merry, merry Christmas. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day, no matter how you chose to celebrate the holidays!! Today I have a little Christmas Candle card for you over at the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.

Here is how I made this card:

First I chose my papers. I decided to have my card base a pretty dark green.

Next I cut my images using the Memory Box Glowing Candles die set on gold foil card stock, and the Poppy Stamp Bow and String using GKD Red Hot Card Stock.

Then I partially die cut the candles with red, and the holly leaves with green.

The innerds of the candles and leaves were what I was after. They got sponged, and then inlaid into the gold candle die cut. I die cut a couple of nesting oval shapes for my background and adhered the focal to the oval. Then I was ready to put the whole card together.
I added a gold embossed holiday message to the front, and then pulled out my Wink of Stella to add sparkle to the candles, and added some Stickles to the flames to make them glow

These are the dies I used:

Dear Ones~

Here's my card:
I decided I wanted to use snowflakes on my card and keep it monochromatic. I mean, what screams WINTER more than snowflakes and white? So I stamped and white heat embossed these beautiful Papertrey Ink snowflakes and swirls on vellum. Then I dry embossed that falling snow background with an embossing folder from Stampin' UP.
I love the way this card came out.

Dies R Us Inspiration - Fancy Gift Box

Dear Ones~
Today over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog I have a beautiful Fancy Gift Box for you to create using the Sue Wilson Orange Blossom Petals die set.

What I am going to show you is how I made that poinsettia embellishment on the top of the box. Linda Parker has a VIDEO tutorial on how to make the box, and she explains it much better than I could. She created her own patterned paper for the lid, but I chose to use patterned paper for the bottom and keep the lid plain to showcase the flower. While I used an orange blossom flower die, I turned it into a poinsettia. This is a good example of the versatility of Dies R Us dies.

Here's how I made the flower embellishment:

First I die cut all my elements. I used the Sue Wilson Orange Blossom Petals die set for the flowers and The Frantic Stamper Assorted Foliage die set for the leaves. The flowers are cut out of GKD Cherry Red card stock and the leaves with GKD Fresh Asparagus. I cut the flower centers with GKD Honey Mustard card stock.

Next I used the Sue Wilson Creative Expressions Frames and Tags - Olivia die set for the doily and white background. The doily is cut from stash gold foil card stock, and the white doily is from Recollections 110# card stock.

Then I gave the flowers and leaves some attention. I sponged the edges of the flowers with GKD Cranberry Tart Ink and the leaves and flower centers with GKD Fresh Asparagus Ink.
Then I shaped the flowers by using a stylus and foam pad. I rubbed the stylus in circles on the backside of the petals, and then turned them over and drew a line up the middle of each petal. This created the "veins" which are typical on poinsettias. I pinched the ends a little to give them dimension.

Then I layered the petals and the little stamens together, and voila, you have a poinsettia.

So that's pretty much it. Then I just added all the elements together and adhered them to the top of my box. I added some stash black gems on the white doily for accents.

Here are the dies I used:

Double D - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Dear Ones~
This time over at the Double D Challenge Blog IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!! We are to use red and white with maybe just a pop of green. Here is our beautiful Mood Board for inspiration:

 Here's my card:
I have to say I'm in love with this card. Those wonderful jingle bells are a stamp set from Sunny Studio called Holiday Style. It is a multi-stamp image and I think it looks so real. After I stamped the bells in the appropriate colors, I stamped them again with Versamark and clear heat embossed them. That beautiful snowflake edging is from the Stampin' Up Thinlits die set called Swirly Snowflake. I added those cute little green bows that I die cut from the Stampin' Up die set called Balloon Pop Up Thinlits.  I think the thing that really makes this card pop is the red and white. LOVE those colors together, especially for Christmas.

Here are the Ingredients:
GKD Red Hot and White Card Stock
SU Swirly Snowflake Thinlits Dies
Cheery Lynn Allison's Ribbons Die
Sunny Studio Holiday Style Stamp
GKD Red Hot Ink
SU Cherry Cobbler and Real Red Ink
HOTP Christmas Collection for Greeting
SU Balloon Pop Up Thinlits for Green Bows
Stash Gems
I invite you to come on over to the Double D Blog to see what our other designers have created. And you could win this awesome prize if you play along. Just in time for your Christmas cards!
