Double D - Colors of Summer

Dear Ones~ Today's offering is for the next Double D Challenge - COLORS OF SUMMER!!! Here's the Mood Board for our inspiration. I think it screams NEON!! See what I mean?

 

Here's what I came up with:

For this card I was inspired by the photo in the bottom left. Those beach balls are da bomb, LOVE all the bright neon colors. I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up called Circle Celebration. I haven't used my GKD Electro Pop Inks for awhile. This is a line that Gina's daughter, Rina, developed. They are bright neon colors and perfect for this challenge.

Here is my card:

I began by stamping the flowers and leaves from the GKD Bloomin’ Wild Stamp Set by Lisa Hetrick with GKD Embossing and Watermark Ink. I heat embossed them with GKD Detailed Gold Embossing Powder, colored them with Copic Markers, and then die cut them with the companion dies. I cut out the white heart with the Master Layouts 4 die and cut the black heart from that die set as well. The little button is also from that set. The background panels were cut with the Master Layouts 1 die set and the patterned paper is from the Sending Love Patterned Paper Pack. The greeting was stamped in GKD Obsidian Amalgam Ink with a stamp from the Rose Bouquet Stamp Set. Card stocks used were GKD Heavy Base Weight White and Black Onyx.

This time over at Double D we are playing with gingham - SUMMER gingham to be exact. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

 

And here is my design:

I am so partial to gnomes, and this little guy from Simon Says Stamp just makes me smile. Paper piecing his clothes and wheel barrow was so much fun. Gingham lends itself to paper piecing very well because of the small design, so it was easy peasy. Painted a few parts with my Zigs and die cut the image out with the companion die.
