Double D - HANDLES

 Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the theme is "HANDLES".  Isn't that interesting? It's a good thing we have this Mood Board for inspiration or I would have been stymied.  But now it all becomes clear.
Here is what I came up with:
As you can see, I took my inspiration from the photo in the lower right corner.  I'm tellin' ya, I had so much FUN making these little purses. There's a TON of YouTube videos out there to show how to make a myriad of different styles. I couldn't stop making them. The papers are from Stampin' Up. Patterned Paper is Flower and Field DSP and yellow card stock is Crushed Curry. I used punches from Paper Studio, Recollections and Martha Stewart for the little flowers and leaves, and for the border elements. The big layered daisy die is from Papertrey Ink, but I think it's retired because I can't find it on their sight. The pretty bow die is from The Greetery and is called Fit to be Tied.
Baubles and brads are from my stash.

Here is the YouTube link for this style. It's by May May and uses one sheet of 12"x12" paper.

This little guy is another May May design. It's a miniatuare of the one above and uses a sheet of 6"x6" paper. You can watch the video HERE.

This one was designed by Angelina from Intertwyne Designs. It was a little more involved. You can watch her video HERE.

And finally, this one was designed by Julie at The Paper Pixie and again uses a 12"x12" piece of paper. You can see her video HERE.

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win this adorable die from Impression Obsession, and don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

As I write this Ukraine is STILL under seige. It so saddens me that people can't live in peace and just get along. If you are the praying kind, Dear Reader, may I ask you to lift one up for those in harm's way.  And don't forget to swing on over to the Double D Challenge and check it out. There's lots of inspiration to be had there.

Until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse!!

Mod Squad - Standing with Ukraine

Dear Ones~
We all know what's going on in Ukraine right now. In light of this, I am inviting Mod Squad Challenge players to support Ukraine by creating a card using only Ukraine's flag colors, which are blue and yellow.

 SPONSOR

       SHOP GINA K DESIGNS

Gina K. has been in the stamping industry since 1998 and started Gina K. Designs in 2007. As the business grew, Gina asked her husband Tom to leave his position as an attorney to join her in the business. Together they built StampTV, an online video website featuring broadcast quality paper crafting videos, galleries, a social network for paper crafters and more! Since then they have created a new website called Gina K Designs. Gina now has over 200,000 followers over her various social media networks and video sites from all around the world. Gina’s goal is to continue to offer top quality signature products through her online store Gina K. Designs, along with informative and creative crafting videos. There is also a monthly card challenge, where you have 3 chances to win a $25 gift certificate. Visit that HERE.

PRIZE

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

Here's my card:

Card stocks used for this card are GKD Ivory, Wild Dandelion and Powder Blue. The background reflects the flag of Ukraine. The sunflowers for this card are from the GKD Sweet Spring Stamp Set and I used the Companion Die Set to cut them out.. Using the GKD Glimmering Gold Fancy Foil I foiled the images after printing them with my laser printer on Wild Dandelion Card Stock. I then colored them with my Copic Markers. It’s hard to photograph the glimmer, but it’s there. The heart die cuts were done with the Master Layouts 4 Die Set and the greeting is from the Pressed Flowers 2 Stamp Set. It was stamped with GKD Embossing and Watermark Ink and heat embossed with Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.

So that's it for me this time. Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy your comments. If you are the praying kind, please lift one up for all those who are suffering from the despicable horror that is going on over in Ukraine.  There are no words!!! And don't forget to swing on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. You could win the prize!

Until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse.

Double D - POCKETS

Dear Ones~
This time over at Double D the theme is POCKETS! How fun!! Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

And here is my card:
There really is a pocket there. It's kind of hidden by all those flowers. I used an Altenew die set I just acquired called Painted Blooms. I like it because there are not a lot of pieces to die cut and I think it comes together pretty sweet. I also recently purchased another little die from Altenew called Twigtastic. I really like it. It's that square attached to the banner. To create the pocket I used the Lawn Fawn Gift Card Pocket Die. This is not a color combination I use often, but I think it works here.

The Ingredients:
Recollections Ivory Card Stock
GKD Charcoal Brown Card Stock
GKD Charcoal Brown Ink
Altenew Painted Blooms Die Set
Altenew Twigtastic Stand Alone Die
Lawn Fawn Gift Card Pocket Die
Scrapbook.Com Smooth Card Stock in Cools and Warms
Honey Bee Team Tie Dye Patterned Paper
Honey Bee Summer Stems Patterned Paper
SU Nature's Etchings Stamp Set for Greeting
Judy Dots
(Haven't Used Those in Forever)
