Seems like forever since I have posted here on my blog. Summer has been busy.....and there is always the Covid lurking about. Today's offering is for the Double D Challenge. The theme this time is BUTTERFLIES!!! Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

I had a lot of fun making this card. My dear friend Ina shared a card she had made with this awesome background technique. She got her inspiration from THIS tutorial on YouTube. I just had to try it. But I took it one step further. After the initial embossing with various metallic powders, I put a couple of layers of clear powder over the entire panel. Then I sprinkled some WOW Metallic Gold Ultra High granules on top and heated those. They melted into the clear layer and gave a wonderful speckle effect. The background is super shiny. I got my inspiration for the butterfly from the beautiful Monarch in the photo.

DeleteWhat an elegant and beautifully artsy card this is Judy! I can just imagine how stunning the card is in real life. I'm off to check out the video as well. Hopefully I'll be as inspired as you were and I'll be lucky to be half as creative in my endeavor. This is so gorgeous!
