This time over at Double D we are doing BLACK AND WHITE. And ONLY black and white. What a fun Mood Board provided for our inspiration:
So many possibilities with this one. Here's my card:
Here I have used the positive/negative technique. I stamped and heat embossed the GKD flower image from Lisa Hetrick's Something Good In Every Day Stamp Set twice, once on black card stock and once on white. The black card stock got white embossing powder, the white card stock got black. Then I cut them exactly in half and joined the two back together. And yes, I have another image identical to this one....lol. This is really fun to do, and can be done with lots of different colors, as long as they are contrasting. I also die cut the GKD Fancy Labels Die out from black and white card and split that in half as well.
here are the Ingredients:
GKD Black Onyx and White Card Stock
GKD Petite Patterns Patterned Paper
GKD Something Good In Every Day
GKD Fanciful Tags for Greeting
GKD Fancy Labels Die
GKD Gingham Ribbon
Judy Dots
I invite you to head on over to the Double D Challenge Blog and
check out what all the other designers have done. And if you play along
you could win this fabulous Memory Box cutting die:
So that's it for me, thanks for stopping by. I adore your comments, they always make me smile. And don't forget to stop over at Double D, there is always so much inspiration over there.
Hugs~

This is fabulous, Judy! I love the mirror image design. Those stripes really pull you in...I would love to see this under a black light!
ReplyDeleteA stunner Judy and a fabulous technique....love this beautiful and elegant card!!
ReplyDeleteLove the mirror image! I think I have done this one time and then forgot about it, but what a fun technique! It's funny, Barbara used mostly black with a touch of white, Donna used mostly white with a touch of black and yours is equally black and white. You girls never cease to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow!!! Stunning and amazing inspirational card! That gorgeous bow finishes the design so well!!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried the positive/negative technique, one day I will have a try! :)
Hugs
WOW!!! There is nothing more I can add to the previous comments. This is amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful use of the positive and negative. This is a fantastic card design.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching Gina demonstrate that technique over at Stamp TV. Beautiful job. The background paper really pops and all the little details add so much to the design. I know you have materials for a second card too. Thank you for the fond memory.
ReplyDeleteYour card is most definitely interesting and eye catching Judy! The technique is gorgeous and I love the end result - so very pretty!
ReplyDeletehahaha I was waiting to know if you made the 2nd card too lol Well done! This is beautiful, the technique makes an interesting outcome. I haven't doen this technique in forever! I love it in black and white, it is so striking!
ReplyDeleteWOW ... I just love, love, love what you've done here! GORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, good idea for this challenge, Judy! I'll admit, this one stumped me for a while and more than one thing went into the trash. This is such a nice study in contrasts and patterns with the stripes and gingham ribbon and your way cool positive/negative center!
ReplyDeleteYou really went great guns for this challenge. I do remember this technique and it is great here. You are an wonder at doing refined card and this is so typical of you.
ReplyDeleteI think black and white are so classy together, Judy. I love the flower split in half and the angled stripes.
