This week it's my turn to host over at The Mod Squad. I decided it would be fun to use something from nature on our creations. The real deal, something that is REALLY from nature, not just an image.

PRIZE
A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.
Here is my card:
When I was walking in the woods recently I found this really beautiful piece of bark from a Red Pine Tree. I thought it would be fun to attach it to my card. On a piece of Kraft Card Stock I stenciled a background with the Thick Brush Stencil and some Sandy Beach Ink. Then I stamped the images with the Something Good in Every Day Stamp Set and attached the bark with Gina K Designs Connect Glue. The flowers are from the Hugs and Wildflowers Stamp Set and are fussy cut from some watercolor paper that I smooshed with Coral Reef and Tangerine Twist Ink. That little lady bug is from A Year of Flowers 2. I used Christmas Pine and Charcoal Brown Card Stock for the card base.
Glad you stopped by, and don't forget
to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge and play along. You could win the prize! I can't
wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments! Now get outside and find something fabulous!!!

Beautiful, Judy! I have this stamp set too and love how you used it. The ladybug...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a challenge and I love what you created. You created a beautiful background for your bark and a perfect wild flower arrangement. This is one of the most original cards I have seen in a long time. You rock.
ReplyDeleteJudy, Judy this is such a surprise and a grand display of natural things. What a great idea for a challenge and it looks so impressive. Hallmark would never do something like this. It is brilliant and I adore all of the flower placements and that adorable lady bug.
ReplyDeleteThis card is so gorgeous and I love the piece of bark which adds texture and interest to your design. I was going to search outside for something but it was raining too hard so had to find something I already had from nature inside the house. I finally did that and had fun making my card too.
ReplyDeleteThis is so striking and tactile, Judy.
ReplyDeleteOh, such lovely idea put that piece of bark on your card!! Love the whole design and any element!
