Color Hues - Blue and Green

Dear Ones~

Seems like it has been forever since I have written a post. Today's offering is for the Color Hues Challenge. It's great fun. Every new challenge offers 2 colors to be used in your creation. This time it is BLUE and GREEN. LOVE this color combination.

Here is my card:

I had so much fun making this card. I stamped and gold heat embossed this geometric image on navy paper. Then I colored the images with a very special watercolor paint by IUILE. This is a company that makes handmade watercolor and it's very glittery and shiny. The gal who makes the paints has an Etsy store. I found out about her through one if Kristina Werner's videos. You can watch the video HERE. I wish you could see the shine IRL.

THE INGREDIENTS:

GKD In the Navy Card Stock

SU Mint Macaron Card Stock
SSS Abstract Triangles Background Stamp
GKD Posterboard Sentiments for Greeting
Stash Vellum
GKD Champagne Embossing Powder
IUILE Handmade Watercolors

Thanks for stopping by. We are in the last few days of 2020, a year that "will live in infamy". Best wishes for a better 2021.

Until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse,

Double D - Poinsettias

Dear One~

This time over at Double D the challenge is to use the iconic Poinsettia. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

And here is my card:

I wanted to use dies to make my poinsettias, but alas I have none. So I used this Orange Blossoms die set, and I think they did the trick. I die cut a bunch of them and sponged the centers with a nice Cranberry Tart ink. I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder and splattered it with gold paint. The centers of the poinsettias are done with Martha Stewart Microbeads.

The Ingredients:
Recollections Rose Petals Card Stock
GKD Fresh Asparagus Card Stock
GKD White Card Stock
Anna Griffin Matelasse Embossing Folder
Creative Expressions Orange Blossoms Dies
Tim Holtz Holiday Greens Dies
SU Beautiful Boughs Dies
SU Ornate Frames Die for Greeting
GKD Cranberry Tart and Christmas Pine Ink
Martha Stewart Luster Glass Gold Microbeads

Mod Squad Challenge - White and Bright

Dear Ones:

I'm up as host for the Mod Squad Challenge, which will run for 2 weeks.  I have chosen white embossing as the challenge this time. You MUST do WHITE EMBOSSING on just ONE OTHER COLOR of card stock, or your entry will be eliminated so that the numbers will not be skewed for the random drawing.

SPONSOR

Gina K. has been in the stamping industry since 1998 and started Gina K. Designs in 2007. As the business grew, Gina asked her husband Tom to leave his position as an attorney to join her in the business. Together they built StampTV, an online video website featuring broadcast quality paper crafting videos, galleries, a social network for paper crafters and more! Since then they have created a new website called Gina K Designs. Gina now has over 200,000 followers over her various social media networks and video sites from all around the world. Gina’s goal is to continue to offer top quality signature products through her online store Gina K. Designs, along with informative and creative crafting videos. There is also a monthly card challenge, where you have 3 chances to win a $25 gift certificate. Visit that HERE.

PRIZE

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

Here is my sample:

I decided I wanted to do a couple of tags for my sample this time. FOR THE GREEN TAG I used the Holiday Tapestry Stamp Set from the Sparkle and Shine Card Kit. I used the die from the Tag Trio Die Set for the big die cut, and a die from the Decorative Tags Die Set for the small tag. Card stock is GKD Christmas Pine and White, embossing powder is GKD Detail White and ink is Christmas Pine. Greeting is from the Seasons of Joy Stamp Set by Lisa Hetrick, die cut with the companion die. FOR THE RED TAG I used the Trio of Tags Die Set with Cherry Red Card Stock. Stamp sets used were Holiday Hexagons by Melanie Muenchinger, and Ornamental Snowflakes by Alicia Krupski. I again used the Detail White Embossing Powder

Glad you stopped by, and don't forget to head on over to The Mod Squad Challenge Blog and play along. You could win the prize! I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, and I adore your comments.

I hope you all are well and staying away from others as much as possible. These are strange times, aren't we glad we have our craft to keep us sane?
