COLOR HUES - PURPLE and TEAL

Dear Ones~
I'm so happy to be able to play along with the Color Hues Challenge again. This time the colors are purple and teal, one of my very favorite color combinations.

Here is my card:
I needed to make a thank you card, and turns out the color challenge was just the right colors for the card I had made. I received a gift of several things from a fellow crafter who happens to live in France. I was delighted to use them on this card. Some, if not all of them, are French. I used Distress Oxides with the smooshing technique on a piece of watercolor paper and, with the beautiful result, die cut the butterfly twice and also the little hearts. The silver embossed square behind the butterfly is part of a sweet little stamp set. I layered it onto a piece of silver card stock using a square scalloped die. The blue background is embossed using an embossing folder that she sent me.

 The Ingredients:
Recollections Very Violet and Ocean Card Stock
Tim Holtz Silver Metallic Kraft Card Stock
Distress Oxides In:
*Wilted Violet
*Shaded Lilac
*Seedless Preserves
Scrap-Pláisir Butterfly Die (told you it was French)
Unknown Heart Embossing Folder
Unknown Square Stamp
GKD Silver Embossing Powder
SU Ornate Thanks Stamp for Greeting
Trinity Stamps Silver Baubles

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Our leaves are finally out and I have cut some lilacs to perfume the house. They are so lovely.

Until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse.
Hugs,
~judy

  4. I had a feeling we might see you in the gallery this time at Color Hues as I knew you loved this color combo. I love all your gorgeous tones of purple on your butterfly and hearts Judy! That smooshing technique always has such great results! I love that the center of the butterfly is teal too. The EF ties the card together perfectly! Thanks for being in the gallery and I hope you enjoy the summer weather!

  5. Lucky you to get gifts that work so beautifully for this challenge, Judy. I love smooshing and it made a gorgeous butterfly. Silver was a great accent for the purple and teal.

  7. A gorgeous card that now sits next to my PC where I spend a lot of time when I'm not crafting - so it's always near me! Thank you so much Judy! 😘😘

  8. You got these colors just right and they are so beautiful too no wonder that you love them. There are so many great elements on this card. I love the embossed background and the detailed butterfly. You know that I made two cards for this challenge and just did not get the colors right. That maybe because I thought it was teal and blue, not purple.
