Make the Cards Challenge - Guest Designer

Dear Ones~
This week it is my great good pleasure to be guest designing for the Make the Cards Challenge.

This is a fun challenge blog that changes every week, and there is always something new or different to create.  Our challenge this week is a theme, which is ENCOURAGEMENT.

 And here is my card:
I used several different dies and stamps for this card. The background is a Stampin' Up patterned paper that I just love. The sunburst on the left  from Papertrey Ink was heat embossed with gold, colored with Karin Brush Markers and then fussy cut.

The Ingredients:
Recollections Very Violet Card Stock
GKD White Card Stock
SU Frosted Florals DSP
PTI Sun and Moon Stamp
Sizzix Winter Garland Dies
SU Sending Thoughts Stamp for Greeting
SU Ornate Frames Die
Tim Holtz Kraft Metallic Card Stock
GKD Gold Embossing Powder
Trinity Stamps Gold Baubles

Here is another card with this theme:

I love the delicate pastels on this card, it's so sweet. Here I used a technique that I learned from Dawn Griffith of Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. You can see her video HERE.  Little squares are cut and glued together for a cute pinwheel design. I also used the very popular Book Binding Fancy Fold that's all the rage right now.  HERE is a link to a video by Karen Titus showing the how-to.  The background is a pretty 3D embossing folder from Altenew called Enchanted Vines.

The Ingredients:
Recollections Rose Petals Card Stock
GKD White Card Stock
Altenew Enchanted Vines 3D Embossing Folder
Memory Box Springtime Bouquet Patterned Paper
Craft Consortium Bloom & Wild PP
SU In Symmetry Stamp for Greeting
SU Tasteful Labels Die
Versafine Ink & Clear EP for Greeting
Stash Pearls and Ribbon

  1. I have the sun and moon stamp and love the way you have used it here. The colors are calming and beautiful. The sentiment is the best encouragement you can get. Love that you have pulled together so many sets from different companies to make this masterpiece. It's beautiful!

  4. WOW! Really? I have never seen either design before. I love seeing news techniques to try. The first card is filled with elegance. I love that sentiment. The second card reminds me of living in the county and all the friendly, charming people we would meet. Thank you for such inspiration!!! (PS Microsoft Edge and Norton Antivirus tried to block me from visiting saying I could get malware 🤷‍♀️ but I barreled on through 🤩)

  5. YOWZA! These are gorgeous my friend, such beauties! Love both designs. The first one so rich and deep with color. I really love your layered florals and that lovely wreath. The second one so pretty in soft pastels. And that book binding technique is awesome, I really love the pinwheel too! Pass the Crackerjacks.....you knocked this out of the park!

  7. Wozer, you did two! How can you make one that is bright and the other soft and pastel and I love them both. Both have so much texture and detail on them. I am really sold on that book binding technique. You rock this one for sure.

  9. Beautiful cards, Judy. The colors on the first one are so rich and elegant. And like you said, the second one is soft and sweet. I had to check out how to do the book fold. Rage? Maybe but I've never heard of it. Congrats on guest designing.
