Can You Handle the Pressure - Butterflies Twist

Dear Ones~
Another challenge is up over at the Can You Handle the Pressure blog.
For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER on our project.  Heat (wet) embossing is permitted but only in addition to your embossing folder design.  Each new challenge will have a 'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

The twist is OPTIONAL!!
As long as you use an embossing folder, your project qualifies!!!
Here is my card
For this card I used a die called Sensational Butterfly Collage by Memory Box. I first cut it out of metallic gold card stock, and then cut it out a second time with patterned paper from Crafter's Consortium called Ink Drops Vivid. All the patterned paper pieces were inlaid into the gold die cut. Time consuming for sure, but really worth it.  The white panels behind the butterfly are die cut pieces from the Sensational Butterfly Collage die which I ran through a Swiss Dot embossing folder by Cuttlebug. An oldie but definitely a goodie. Those pieces were inlaid as well.

  The Ingredients:
SU Blackberry Bliss and Soft Succulent Card Stock
GKD Lovely Lilac and White Card Stock
Tim Holtz Metallic Card Stock
Crafter's Consortium Ink Drops Vivid Patterned Paper
Memory Box Sensational Butterflies Collage
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
SU Flourishing Flowers Stamp for Greeting
Trinity Stamps Bubble Blowout Baubles

  1. A Splendid butterfly for this card and I love that you did it in gold. When you inlaid that white panels you added depth to the card, but it still looks good for mailing. Happy to be here with you today as your guest.

  2. Gorgoeus! I love the foil and the colors beneath! Pretty design and that embossing folder is so beautiful, adds great texture! How handy I just got a Hot Foil Butterfly set, can't wait to play along!

  3. WOW! What a gorgeous butterfly! Yep, inlaying can be very time consuming but like you said, so worth it ... how beautiful!!! Awesome design with your beautiful embossing ... thanks for amazing inspiration! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

  4. Love the blended colors in the butterfly, and what a cool design with the embossed panels showing through the gold. Beautiful!

  5. The gold really sparkles, Judy, and I love the paper you used behind the wings. Such a gorgeous card.

  6. So pretty Judy. I know inlay lakes time but you are right soo worth the time. No matter how careful i try to be I always seem to lose one little piece when I do this technique. One time I found it on my elbow.

  7. Oh that large gold butterfly is just magnificent! I love the paper you used behind it. It's gorgeous and goes so well with that marvelous metallic card stock. I love the inlaid panels too.

  8. Oh Judy Judy Judy this is jaw dropping gorgeous. So much to love about this beauty. The layout and all that gold is just wonderful and THAT

  9. oops - finger bumped before I finished. THAT butterfly is breathtaking. Of course that swiss dot was and is everyone's favourite go to. Loving it with the hint of 'purple' behind your butterfly. Busy making one as I type for this challenge. Who can resist a butterfly???
