This time over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog I am exploring the inlay technique.
This is my card:
One of the things I love about open die images is the fact that it's so easy to do the inlay technique. I started
by creating a base with black card stock, then cut a mat with red and
finished off with a white panel. Then I began to create the inlay.
Here's how I did it:
First
I cut the poppy in gold foil card stock with the Memory Box Perky
Poppy die. Then I cut it again in red, green and black, and saved the
insides of the die cuts.
The
red pieces were sponged with red ink and then inlaid into the gold die
cut. The black and green pieces were glued over the gold since there
were no open spaces for these.
Next
I cut the embellishments in red and black with Elizabeth Crafts Ribbons
and Jewels dies. I wove the two pieces together. It's very easy to do
with these die cuts.
Then I put it all together. The greeting is a Waffle Flower Year Round Words die.
These are the dies I used:
I hope you will try the inlay technique. It's really quite easy, you can get amazing results!!
