This time over at Double D we are waxing nostalgic and Looking Back in Time. Something that reminds us of times gone by. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:
And here is my card:
Dress forms were used back in the day when sempstresses had to make their own patterns. I suppose they are still used today in certain situations, but the average sempstress just uses a store bought pattern. This is a very old stamp from Gina K Designs, and I love it. Here I heat embossed with brown embossing powder and then colored it with Copics. Several dies were used, I love the patterned paper too. All the elements were sponged for a vintage look. The delicate die cut edge really makes this card unique
Here are the Ingredients:
SU Tip Top Taupe Card Stock
DCWV Preserved Paper Patterned Paper
GKD Springtime Silhouettes
SU Butterfly Gala for Greeting
SU Foliage Frame Framelits
SU Delicate Lace Edgelits
Copic Markers
GKD Dark Chocolate EP
Stash Pearls and Ribbon

Congrats lovely Alice on your win...love this beautiful card Judy.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Judy with all the pretty details and love the lacy edge. Very creative to use the dress form, I used to 'collect' dress form stamps..that's how much I loved them!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an elegant and feminine vintage card! Dress forms make me think of years gone by too. The die cut border is gorgeous. So happy that you added some color to this challenge too!
ReplyDeleteOMG what a great idea and beautiful card! Love that beautiful edging and pretty rose background! Yep dress forms were the thing to have 'back in the day'. In fact, not long after my daughter married that was what she asked for as a Christmas present and she got a lot of use out of it over the years. Thanks for fun memories and an awesome creation of inspiration! Well done my friend!
ReplyDeleteI thought about using a dress form as I have several stamps, so I'm happy to see you went ahead with it. Love that you added color, too. After all, there was lots of color in the old days... just not color film for the photos. That's a gorgeous border die. My friend still uses a dress form when she sews. Beautiful card, Judy!
ReplyDeleteSuch a feminine and gorgeous vintage design you have created. The colors ae wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteJudy, I have that very stamp. Purchased from Gina a long while ago. Love your vintage card and new take on using this stamp. Very pretty card!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love going back to some of your older stamps and dies. You are right that edge really sets this design apart. Love the papers and sponging and vintage look.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!! That beautiful background paper and lacy edge are perfect for the vintage look.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the trip back in time.
Wow what a beautiful vintage card here Judy. Stunning die cuts and I too love that old GK stamp set. It is a classic. You have done it proud!
ReplyDeleteI'm so lucky to have won your wonderful prize, Judy!! Thank you so very much!!! I'm doing a happy dance! :D I'm glad you like my card, too! You are very talented and your inspiration for the new D&D challenge looks delightful and so feminine!! The dress form stamp is just perfect for the theme and LOVE your design with that vintage die cut edge, the lovely papers and the sweet bow!!
ReplyDeleteI actually have a dress form although it's not as fancy as your stamped one, Judy. I never used it for sewing though.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! I have that stamp. I love how you used it on a vintage card and it didn't have to be all dark and brown to look vintage. I just saw on the news yesterday, that they now have robot like dress forms that will change sizes to fit your figure. Hate to think what mine would look like. I woudl rather dream.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that dress form and how you colored it all up. It's so feminine and fabulous! I remember that GKD set. Your Designer Paper is beautiful but that lacey edge die is magnificent, just compliments the entire creation!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours and layout. That edge die is so pretty! Love how you’ve distressed the edges, really adds to the vintage charm!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this card! Yes, I remember this stamp set from Gina K. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous Judy! I love all those beautiful vintage elements. The dress form, bow and fancy die cut are so pretty against the vintage background paper.
ReplyDeleteOh Judy! Wow what a beautiful vintage card! Stunning die cuts and I love that GK stamp set. It is a great one for sure. You have done a fabulous job on this!
ReplyDeleteVery vintage and beautiful! My great aunt used to have a dress form in her basement. Scared me to death every time I went down there. lol Love the pink and the pretty roses in your background. Lovely card!
