Can You Handle the Pressure - BEACH

 Dear Ones~
There's a new challenge up over at Can You Handle the Pressure.   For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER on your project.  Heat (wet) embossing is permitted but only in addition to your embossing folder design.  Each new challenge will have a 'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.
The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:
BEACH

Here's my card:
I have used a stamp set by Stampin' Up called Ocean Front. It's all done with stamping, but it looks like watercolor. So much fun to use. I added a lot of Trinity Stamp Baubles to look like bubbles and I love the look. After the card was stamped I ran it through a SU Bark Embossing Folder for some texture and then added some embossing powder by Emerald Creek called Dirty Sand for more texture as well.

The Ingredients:
GKD Kraft, Powder Blue and Ivory Cardstock
SU Ocean Front Stamp Set
GKD By the Sea 2 Stamp Set
SSS Tiny Words Stamp Set for Greeting
GKD Powder Blue, Turquoise Sea, Moonlit Fog
and Fresh Asparagus Ink
SSS Latte Ink

The OPTIONAL TWIST for today's challenge is:

 SUMMER

Here's My Card~
I just adore how this cute little card turned out. The image is an old digi stamp and I'm sorry but I do not have a clue where it came from. I could not resist using it because I think it SCREAMS summer. The embossing folder is a new one from Gina K Designs called Lattice, but I think it looks like an ice cream cone...lol. I colored the sweet image with my alcohol markers, something I haven't used in awhile. I forgot how much fun they are. The seeds and eyes are colored in with a black gel pen for dimension.

The Ingredients:
GKd Lipstick, Turquoise Sea, Wild Dandelion
and White Card Stock
GKD Master Layouts 6
GKD Lattice Embossing Folder
Dick Blick Alcohol Markers
GKD Hello Sunshine Stamp Set for Greeting
Stash Patterned Paper
SU Layered Square Dies

Power Poppy - Glassy Eyed

Dear Ones~
I decided to enter the challenge over at Power Poppy this month. One of my dearest and most talented  online BFFs is part of the Bloom Brigade Design Team, and she has been showcasing lots of Power Poppy images on her BLOG. The challenge is called Glassy Eyed, and it invites us to use an image that is IN glass or UNDER glass. Glass is difficult to color realistically. I am still learning.

Here is my card:
I love this image from the digi stamp set called Accentuate the Positive. I colored it with my alcohol markers and really enjoyed it. I haven't used my markers for quite awhile. I wanted this card to be very simple, with just the image as the focal.

Here's a little closeup of the Mason Jar.

The Ingredients:
GKD White and Black Onyx Card Stock
Power Poppy Accentuate the Positive Digital Stamp
GKD Master Layouts 2 Die Set
Dick Blick Alcohol Markers
Trinity Stamps Pearl Baubles
White and Black Gel Pens

It's been fun to just enter a challenge without doing it for a Design Team. I hope you swing on over to the Power Poppy Blog, there's lots of fun things going on over there. And thanks for all your comments, they always make me smile.

Until next time, here's celebrating your creative Muse!

Double D - Creatures Under the Sea

 Dear Ones~

There's another challenge up over at Double D and this time it's CREATURES UNDER THE SEA. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

Here's what I came up with:
I have to admit that I don't really have many stamps, etc. that go along with this theme, but I do have this set from Stampin' Up, so that's what I went with. I cut an oval in the Sea Glass card stock and then embossed it with the Stampin' Up Old World Paper embossing folder. I love the texture it gave the paper, kind of like water. I cut the wild flower leaves from a couple of different colors of card stock and placed them inside the oval. I love that fishnet die cut, the die is from the Stampin' Up Under the Sea Framelits.

The Ingredients:
GKD Tranquil Teal, Sea Glass & White Card Stock
SU Old World Paper Embossing Folder
SU Sea of Textures Stamp Set
SU Under the Sea Framelits
The Greetery Summer Findings Die Set for Shells
Wild Flowers Die Set
GKD Tranquil Teal, Innocent Pink,
Plum Punch & Sea Glass Ink
Trinity Stamps Baubles

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win these cute die sets by Cottage Cutz, and don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.
