Double D - Creatures Under the Sea

 Dear Ones~

There's another challenge up over at Double D and this time it's CREATURES UNDER THE SEA. Here is the Mood Board for our inspiration:

Here's what I came up with:
I have to admit that I don't really have many stamps, etc. that go along with this theme, but I do have this set from Stampin' Up, so that's what I went with. I cut an oval in the Sea Glass card stock and then embossed it with the Stampin' Up Old World Paper embossing folder. I love the texture it gave the paper, kind of like water. I cut the wild flower leaves from a couple of different colors of card stock and placed them inside the oval. I love that fishnet die cut, the die is from the Stampin' Up Under the Sea Framelits.

The Ingredients:
GKD Tranquil Teal, Sea Glass & White Card Stock
SU Old World Paper Embossing Folder
SU Sea of Textures Stamp Set
SU Under the Sea Framelits
The Greetery Summer Findings Die Set for Shells
Wild Flowers Die Set
GKD Tranquil Teal, Innocent Pink,
Plum Punch & Sea Glass Ink
Trinity Stamps Baubles

If you head on over to the  Double D Challenge Blog and play along, you could win these cute die sets by Cottage Cutz, and don't forget to check out all the beautiful cards the other designers have created.

Until next time, here's celebrating your Creative Muse!!

  1. This is fabulous Judy! I love all the texture and layers. Well done!

  2. Very much like water! It is so stricking this background made with this embossing folder. Using the supplies that you had and made a fabulous card.

  3. What an amazing background ... love it!! Your overall scene is beautiful ... thanks for inspiration!

  4. Wow, a fabulously created card and couldn't be any more perfect for the challenge theme! That textured background is awesome and I love the colors of the octopus, WELL done my friend!!

  5. WOW! I thought that textured embossing was a paste of some sort, it looks amazing! I adore this dies set, anything sea creaturey or beachy is a hit in my book! Love that net and how you added eyes to the octopus--clever! This is FUN!

  6. Simply fantastic, Judy. Like Donna, I thought the embossing was a paste also. I especially like the oval window as part of the background. Great sea grass and bubbles too.

  7. You don't need any other sea stamps, Judy. What you have made an amazing card. I love all the little details and that embossing folder is fabulous.

  8. This is so beautiful Judy! Love all the pretty "under-the -sea" elements you used to create the overall scene.
