Dear Ones~
There's a new challenge over at Can You Handle the Pressure. For this challenge blog you MUST use an EMBOSSING FOLDER
on your project. Heat embossing (with embossing powder) is permitted but only IN ADDITION to your embossing folder design. Each new challenge will have a
'TWIST' which is optional ... your choice to use or not.
The OPTIONAL TWIST for this challenge is:
MASCULINE
Here's what I came up with:
I don't know about you, but masculine cards are hard for me. I'm a flower/froo froo kind of girl, so this was a bit of a challenge. But Himself's brother has a birthday coming up, and he's an avid fisherman, so here you are. You can't really tell, but the background panel is a collage of several Stamperia papers. I LOVE doing collage pages - my new favorite thing. The vellum panel is embossed with a Stampin' Up Twisted Rope folder, and attached with some twine.
The Ingredients:
GKD Dark Chocolate & Skeleton Leaves Card Stock
Stamperia Assorted Patterned Papers
SU Twisted Rope Embossing Folder
Honey Bee Vintage Lures Dies
Stash Vellum
Penny Black Antique Frame Die for Vellum
Honey Bee Every Day Mini Messages
Tim Holtz Brads
Stash Baker's Twine

WOW what a fabulous masculine design! Great job inside & out! That fishing lure die is pretty cool! Well done my friend ... awesome masculine inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWoowho Judy, this is a fabulous masculine card, definitely male, I too struggle with masculine cards but always have the need for them!
ReplyDeleteThat rope works just as well as my fishing net to go along with the lures, Judy. Love the layers and collage of papers.
ReplyDeleteI knew immediately who you had in mind with I saw this card. It is absolutely the best for Rob as he is really into fishing and fly making. That masculine paper around the edges and the center image is so masculine. You hit this one out of the park!
ReplyDeleteThey are a bit more challenging to make, but you nailed it with this handsome specimen! Love the lure and manly layers! I adore the use of Vellum on any style card! Rob's brother will love this for sure! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWowie, you've got all the right stuff for a masculine card here! Love the lure so much and the rope embossing. I've seen many videos for the paper collage making and I love how they turn out. You aced everything about this challenge, Judy!
ReplyDeleteAwesome masculine card, love the embossed vellum. Brings back memories of my dad teaching me how to put on a lure and cast my line!
ReplyDeleteGreat design as always and your card is amazing ♥
